About 1 hour before my evening meal I start feeling cold and even when the temperature in the room is in the mid to upper 20's I cannot get warm. On occasions I actually start shivering. I can cover myself with a blanket and take hot tea with two sugars and still I cannot get warm.
Within a few minutes of eating the evening meal (dinner) I start warming up and eventually start peeling off the layers and eventually feel normal.
I have had this problem for many years. It is as if my boiler is running out of fuel and cannot keep the body warm until more fuel is ingested.
For info, I am a male, 67 years of age, 5 foot 10 inches (in old money) and I weigh 68 to 70 kgs.
Any sensible thoughts on this problem ??

I am a woman of 50. I have exactly the same thing . I usually wear a dressing gown over my day clothes for about an hour before I eat my evening meal. I don't warm up till I have eaten. I also suffer from bad heartburn. I don't know if this is related.

Funny, but I decided to Google my problem and it took me back to my original post above. I have not yet found anything on the web about this problem but I think that I shall go and have a blood test for diabetes. I have a couple of other problems and they are poor circulation in my hands and feet. Terribly itchy skin on my back and weight loss, but I have always been skinny and battle to put weight on.
I shall post my blood results later.

Yes same thing happens to me. So dont feel you are on your own with this. It does seem as if its your body is telling you to eat cos as soon as I have my evening meal I am fine again in fact Im usually too hot afterwards.
