its your adams apple developing so slow down on the weed i have the same problem and weed f**ks your head if you do smoke it so the more you smoke it the more scared youll be that something is seriously wrong

It cant be cancer and your still alive and hasnt been treated then it cant be cancer if it was and 2-3 months then you would have been dead i f your alive

Hi i understand your concern as when weird things with your body pop up and linger, it can freak you out. If I can offer you some advice, any doctor/psychologist will tell you it is a bad idea to get online for answers to medical problems, mainly because the symptoms you are experiencing could have many causes (and medical websites/forums tend to always direct you to the deadly causes, not the common ones). I have an obsessive anxiety disorder caused my mild OCD (hypochondria) and i wasted years of my life searching for answers to medical problems i thought i had. For example, I had a strong metallic taste in my mouth that persisted for 3 months, my first thought, CANCER. I obsessively searched the internet, and every single thing i found; throat cancer, tongue cancer, etc...Turns out after going to the doctor i was healthy, and it went away in a week or two. I too get the lump in my throat feeling that stays for a long time if i have a yawning fit or a bout with sinus infections. Try getting an appointment with the ear nose and throat doctor and I'm sure you can get it resolved.

Two months ago I felt an uncomfortable tightness in my throat.  I have had this before and it went away on its own so didn't think much of it.  Then I got a really bad bout of bronchitus and started to feel a lump in my throat, with the tightness feeling.  I went to the dr, worried out my mind since I am a smoker and he took a swab and said I had a throat infection.  I was given a course of antibiotics and also some pills to relieve swelling. I was relieved it went away but then two weeks later I got a really bad cough again and then the cough healed but the feeling of the lump is still there.  On my last visit to the dr he prescribed me with different antibiotics which haven't worked at all. I am on my last pills today and there has been no improvement. I asked the dr if a feeling in the throat is normal with an infection and he said it is.  The feeling is driving me crazy - I have been extremely stressed lately and reading other posts, I see it could be stress related.  I am in the throws of giving up smoking - but I also have earache which comes and goes.  I read that could be related to the throat infection.  I have started to have a little acid reflux but no hoarseness, shortness of breath and its not at all painful when I swallow but the feeling of this constant lump which is to the right of the throat is so annoying and I constantly find myself pushing my throat to try and locate but its inside.  Its making me very anxious.  My anxiety was relieved slightly when the dr looked into my throat and said if it was cancer, there would be some discoloration on the throat and there was nothing but my throat was inflammed and when he took a swab, there was an infection.  But it won't go away!! I read this morning that antibiotics are not very good in healing throat infections so am now trying cider vinigar with ginger, garlic, cinnamon and honey and that relieved the pain.  I want to be absolutely sure its not cancerous so after no smoking for a week and trying some home made remedies, if it is still there, I will be back at the dr demanding a more thorough test. My only advise is don't put off going to the dr cos worrying it could be cancer makes it even worse. If you illiminate that it is not cancer, that will help alot I think and also if it is, the earlier you catch it the better.  I can't sleep at night worrying sometimes that the dr could be wrong.  Any ideas?

Hope you are OKdid you find out what the problem was, I am having this lump in throat feeling and to make things worse I have a small flesh colured raised lump was size of pea now bigger that my finger nail, hard when touch and if press you can feel something squish moving inside this not swollen from out side of neck, no pain, it is on right side of throat before the arch, had sinus problems with polyps, and drip on throat, but ok at present can do operation, look and feel tired, sometimes the throat feels like someone is squeezing the two sides and feel heart racing, ENT put me on Roximicine and sloane tablets for 5 days today is the last. My eyes are really bad dark, and my sisiter say it is worse, they see me often. I dont feel like myself use to be happy go lucky now aI am so down as I worry about this ;lump also had this funny cough that made me feel like diaritching just comes on for no apparent reason take zoton, when like that but dont feel it really helps occasionally get burning sensation in stomach and drink mik to relieve it. This lump on side of throat is getting me down, have taken enough of antibiotics, and during that time , took scan to check for thyroid and came normal but was the antibiotics supresing the growth at the time so it was not noticible on scan. it wa s a pea size, used to get tonsil stones in that area where the lump is. my doctor that I mentioned too and the ENT said food particles,.food particles been going on for some time mentioned it only around 2011, october, , but I knew it was not food particlez cos they where like white heads froma pimple need to squeeze it out, or when cough with force migh come off rinsing dont take it out and leaves craters . Smoke may have troubled salivary glands. Use lemon drops to stimulate glands, plenty of water, don't smoke.

my lump in throat has been treated with antibotics and allergy tabs. im good thanks for your info,i hope you also find a solution to your symptons. scincerly ,joyce

i took antibotics and allergy meds. lump is gone allergies are better .

I began to feel a lump in the left side of my throat about one week ago. I dismissed it for two days until it became apparent it wasn't going to leave on its own. Now it hurts more often and makes eating painful. It feels like there is a ball or some swelling there and it doesn't hurt on the outside, nor can you feel it with your hands. I only feel it sometimes when I swallow. My voice doesn't get hoarse, and it doesn't hurt to breath. Im only 15 so I don't smoke, I haven't done any drugs, I am vegetarian. What's wrong with me? D:

I felt a lump on my throat and a little difficulty in breathing last week of April, I consulted my Allergologist since I am asthmatic and she said that I got my allergy with the canned luncheon meat I ate and but also treated me for reflux.  Its the first time I experience that kind of allergy, if ever I would its only rashes. I took the meds and finished but observed that the lump do sometimes occur and felt relieved when I burped. Just mid of June, I consulted an EENT specialist and said that my throat is inflammed and grainy so I was given another set of medications, antibiotics and antiallergy But I finished my meds just last weekand still observed that I could still feel the lump and sometimes a little pain and cramps, I'm going to go back to my EENT  this week for reevaluation. I'll get back here after my consultation.

ive been that way 10 years at least no one helped me.not one dr. be your own advocate. a cat scan is the only way the e.r. found it .
