Hi Rosiegirl, I have had similar problems with my nails , one problem might be acetone polish remover... when I would use it my nails were extraordinarily painful for days, so
I wasn’t able to use polish for years until non-acetone remover came along. It is so much milder on nails & skin. I have hypo thyroid & at one time a few of my nails were lifting from the nail bed , Doc changed meds & they returned to normal. I have been a hairdresser for many years, so nails & hands take a lot of abuse,. I hope this info will help you, I also found Tea Tree oil will help with nails that thicken & turn yellow.

My wife's fingernails are going white at the end, and the nails at the end are coming away from the nail bed. How to stop that?

I'm 58. My thyroid is normal and all of my blood work is normal. I don't wear polish. I take a multi vitamin. I'm in great health so why do and couple of my nails lift from the nail bed.

My fingernails curl in on the sides, not on the ends just on the side, and mainly on the left hand. What causes this?
