I admit that I haven’t been visiting doctor much due to my good health and therefore I got a little nervous hearing that my father has to go for the ECG. He has been experiencing some chest pain and he has to check out his heart. It will be his first time doing ECG-is it a painful diagnostic procedure?
Actually, it is quite a simple procedure. And it has been used for many years now. Since our heart muscle is activated with the nerve impulses that are actually an electric current, ECG is basically graphically presenting the flow of that electricity. And it is supposed to have the same pattern in healthy persons and any deviation from that is a sign of heart pathology. It is painless.
