Hello everybody! First time this summer my sister started having this strange small bumps on the side between her genitals and legs. They started to itch, slowly increasing and now she has one very big bump on the left side that hurts a lot, and she can’t walk, so she can’t go to the doctor’s now. One of my friends told me that she might have a folliculitus. What exactly is it and how is it treated? Has anyone had it?

Hello there! Yes, it is quite possible that your sister has folliculitus which is inflammation of the hair follicles. I had this 2 years ago. It is actually just a hair that got stuck under skin causing all this pain and inflammation. I was in bed for 4 days, couldn’t move at all, I could hardly go to the toilet. I went to the gynecologist’s first, but he sent me to dermatologist’s and in the end I ended up with surgent. He did a small cut and took out the hair, so I had no more problems after it!
