I've tried slot of things- applying propolis tincture over night, plus good garlic intake, healthy diet- has helped me tremendously- thought I'd share.

Should have also mention that I use a derma roller 3-4 minutes before applying the propolis. During the day I use Babyface 12% AHA Serum- 2-3 applied during the day. I purchased some lip rollers that I keep a bit of the stuff in- works great! Easy to use and easy to carry with me.

Whats up guys, Ive been following this topic for a while now and it seems like theres still no cure for these awful spots. The only treatments I have tried are jojoba oil, which didnt work, and for the past few months I have been using a hot needle on my spots. It seems like it might be working but Ive read its not permanent. But anyways, the reason im posting this is because we've got to find a cure. I start school in 2 weeks and I desperately want a girlfriend but these spots keep holding me back . A group of us need to get in contact and discuss whats worked and what hasn't, and try new possible cures. We just need to keep trying and get these things knocked out. Good luck guys.

How'd you do the hot needle thingy?

Basically you heat up a needle with a lighter and poke the spot, then you take a paper clip, heat it up, and poke the same spot. Its pretty painful and you will have a scar for about 5 days to a week but the spots I did this on seem to be gone. I heard this isnt permanent and the spots come back after several months so i will just have to wait and see.

Right now I am trying blistex lip conditioner on the remaining spots.I think I read where somebody used this and it worked. If you are interested in trying it, it comes in a pinkish color container and says DCT on it.

Also one thing I have found to cover up the spots is Estee Lauder lipstick. I use Color 17 Rose tea creme and it matches the color of my lips very closely. It comes in a blue plastic stick. Though you might have to look at different colors and brands to match your lips. It really sucks having to wear lipstick because I am a guy and I always have to be careful not to wipe it off or let somebody find the lipstick tube. But its better than nothing. Hope this helps.

I feel you bro. I hate these things. I just wear cherry chapstick and no one has ever said anything about my fordyce spots. I think I have them pretty bad too. Maybe its wishful thinking but maybe no one notices them beside you.

Does the cherry chapstick actually color your lips, or is it just chapstick with a cherry taste? Also, does it have any smell to it? I would be interested in trying it but dont want to smell girly.

And on another topic, to anyone who read my post above about using blistex lip conditioner, I decided to stop using it after a few days because I noticed some new spots appear. I dont know if the blistex caused the new spots or not but I didnt want to take any chances on making them worse

I've been searching the Internet for years and there doesn't seem to be any way to get rid of them for good.

Can I get the name of your doctor in the Philippines

You know, I think I actually found out what could be the actual medical cure...

I just stumbled upon it today. I doubt anyone could get a doctor to perform this though, but its interesting stuff.
Basically, there is this stuff called "Indocyanine green" which is a dye that is usually used to illuminate and see inside of bodily structures.
But, apparently, if you apply it (in combination with glycerol-ethanol-propylene-glycol-water) to a skin area for 15 minutes, the dye penetrates and attaches to hair follicles, and also to sebaceous glands.
You then wipe the skin clean, and use a 810nm laser (same/similar to hair removal lasers) to the area. The laser selectively heats up the dye, which allows the sebaceous gland (and hair root) to be burnt and thus deactivated.

So theoretically, if a doctor applied this to a patient's lips, and then wiping clean, and the dye had managed to penetrate into the sebaceous glands, then a doctor could selectively go over the parts with fordyce spots with a 810nm laser and only cause damage to the inner sebaceous glands and stop the production of sebum.

You know like, why the hell aren't there any more studies of this method with fordyce spots? It seems like it is a somewhat normal thing as an acne treatment which seems to work quite well.
