It is not uncommon for some women to experience irregular bleeding or spotting after the removal of an intrauterine device (IUD). However, bleeding for four months is considered abnormal and it is recommended that you consult with your healthcare provider for further evaluation and management.
Your healthcare provider may perform a physical examination and possibly some tests to determine the cause of the prolonged bleeding. Treatment options may include hormonal medications, such as birth control pills or hormonal IUDs, or other medical interventions depending on the underlying cause.
It is important to keep in mind that everyone's body is different, and therefore the duration and intensity of bleeding may vary. However, seeking medical advice is always recommended if you experience any unusual symptoms or concerns regarding your menstrual cycle.
I hope your bleeding stopped in the meantime.
