My partner was told 4weeks ago he had gall bladder pancreatitis, after he was in hospital 4 5 days and in servere pain. He had his gall bladder removed last tuesday and was told to eat low fat foods. My question is, He has spent years abusing alcohol and after searching the internet im more confused.

Does he still have pancreatitis? (due to the drinking) and is he allowed to drink alcohol?

My personal opinion is he had gall stones which meant he needed the gall bladder removed. but think that the pancreatitis is because of the heavy drinking. Which is another cause for major concern as this can only get worse.

What can we expect if he continues to drink.

Well if his drinking caused him gallbladder problems, why doesn't he stop. It will probably only cause him more problems

If pancreatitis gets severe, it can lead to kidney problems as well.
