I'm a 41 year old widow of three & recently I've had a gallbladder attack, I homeschool them so I really need to be on top of my game. I have a history of kidney stones(passed 3 so far with one in my right kidney) and I went for a hida scan yesterday to check my gallbladder function. It measured at 15% but normal on the flow from Liver to Gallbladder and biliary to intestine. It just moves slowly which could be bc of a blockage. Since the scan yesterday I have had this burning pain in my left side, from under my ribs to right above my hip and it radiates around to my back. It's hard for me to talk about bathroom issues but I really need help... about a year and a half ago I had a extremely severe bowel movement that felt something like a ripping sensation inside my large intestine, left side. I was diagnosed about 16 years ago with IBS but since that night of severe pain I've had problems with bowel movements. From constipation to nothing at all for 3 or 4 days then go all of a sudden sometimes loose. And if I want to go I have to use over the counter Milk of Magnesia, it's the only thing that will help me go. I go to the Practitioner at the Gastros in 2 weeks but idk if I can continue with this pain. Is anyone else having this issue or had this issue that can help?

It's good that you have an upcoming appointment with the practitioner at the gastroenterology clinic. They will be able to assess your symptoms, review your medical history, and perform any necessary tests to determine the underlying cause of your pain and bowel issues. They may recommend additional imaging, such as an abdominal ultrasound or colonoscopy, to further investigate the source of your symptoms.
In the meantime, it might be helpful to keep a record of your symptoms, including the frequency and severity of your bowel movements, any associated pain or discomfort, and any triggers or patterns you notice. This information can be valuable during your appointment and aid in the diagnosis process.
Remember, discussing your symptoms and concerns with your healthcare provider is crucial for receiving accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment. They will be able to provide you with personalized advice and support based on your individual situation.
Good luck!
