Hi,
Did you do anything to improve the ejection rate? Mine is 23% and I am hoping that mine too will improve with time. I have pain under my ribs quite a lot. But I am not sick to my stomach. My ultrasound and EGD were also negative. I do not want surgery unless I really have to. Thanks

I had the HIDA Scan on Monday and felt fine during the test but about 1/2 hour afterwards I started feeling terrible.  I didn't start feeling better until today 2 days later.. My doctor called me this afternoon to let me know that I have 0% functionality of my gallbladder.  I have an appointment next Monday with the surgeon to find out when it comes out.  I'm glad that I have some answers (after so many previous doctors telling me that my gallbladder was fine because I didn't have any gall stones) and will hopefully get some relief after the surgers.  I will admit that I'm very nervous for this surgery.  I'm almost 44 and am overweight (I'm working on that).  Once it's removed hopefully I'll be able to eat without pain.. something I haven't experienced in quite a long time!

I am having the same symptoms as you and the hida scan shows that my gallbladder is working at 55%. I have belching episodes that can last for 24 hours. I am talking 6 to 8 times a minute, for 24 hours. I can't believe they sent me home from the hospital and didn't take it out. I am tired of being sick, acid reflux from hell, and nausea.

Just curious. What was your ejection rate before you tried this? Have you had a HIDA scan since. My ejection rate is 3% & I would love to heal my gallbladder but am not sure if it is beyond repair at this point.

Does this mean that I have an EF of 6% if the scan result has this wording? "Normal gallbladder activity with diminished gallbladder ejection fraction, 6%." or does it mean that it's only 6% diminished? I haven't spoken with my Dr. yet but was unclear what this meant in mychart.

I had the same problem 4 years ago. I did not go to surgery, just stoped eating fat for a year, except good fat, olive oil , avocado, walnuts, etc. After a few weeks no more pain under my right rib. Sice then I changer my diet, I avoid french fries, greasy meats, bbq, etc. but I eat most foods. no I am back to normal.

Hello My name is Dedie, I had an ultra sound and Hida scan of the gallbladder on Mon. now my Dr. is ordering a CT this coming Mon. ultra sound showed there is a solid 4.9 x4.6 x2.7cm mass within the right hepatic lobe. Scan showed low, 7% gallbladder ejection fraction. Not sure what this means, I knew about the mass because I had an ultrasound years ago and was told it was probably a hemangioma . Only I don't remember the measurements at that time. I believe it was a little smaller....Do you know if hemangioma typically grow in size over time? Thanks for your time.

After 1.5 years to figure out, finally had hida scan that showed 9% ejection fraction. Had my gallbladder out 2 days ago. Pain is bad but tolerable. I cannot take the narcotics since they make my head feel crazy. Only alternating Advil and Tylenol. Eating applesauce and jello mainly. Afraid to eat anything hard . Stomach is very grumbly. My close up eyesight is very bad now but read that can happen after surgery and should go away. Still feel woozy and when I get up my stomach feels very tight. Back and shoulder still hurt. This is horrible but hopefully it is worth it . Also, I have 6 incisions that seems like more than what I have heard from others who only had 3. I am thin, eat healthy, exercise but do have family history of this. I wonder if it is stress related too since I have had a lot of stress in the past. 2 years when symptoms began,

Sorry to butt in but I am a healthy 37 year old woman and my surgeon has told me that this is NOT to do with diet. It is to do with childbirth. I have had 3 boys in 5 years and he explain something about the oestrogen hormone being similar to cholesterol in shape (?!) and these kinda and cause sludge in the gallbladder. Now I am willing to accept I have a hormone imbalance which can be helped by diet but not necessarily cured. NO need to make people feel like they have done this to themselves!

I'm also not getting any answers from doctors . I've been having pain in my right side for almost 2 years now . so far had 3 ultrasound , abdominal x ray , chest xray , blood work , gastrsoscopy , and yesterday hida scan .. No results on this one yet but I feel like its gonna be normal like all my tests . my doctor even send me to physiatrist to see if the pain is in my head but it's not I feel it every day some days its more intense then others. I had few episodes where I felt nosiated but Didnt throw up. I feel like my pain is just there all the time . And my doctor seems to gave up she told me I have to learn how to live with this pain . its seems like the symotms I have are related to gall bladder but I'm really scared it might be something else . any way I noticed when I excerside its seems to get better . and also lits of water and some herbal things like dandelion tea, milk thistle, olive oil with lemon seem to help . for new months last year I felt better after taking Chinese pils called lidan pashi pan but can't get those anymore because they Dont have din number which is required in Canada . I'm just hoping I will get some answers after hida scan I can't take this anymore .

I see this was a year ago. Are stories are the same. Down to the same EF. How has your weight problems been. I don't fear surgery I fear being fatter then I already am. I struggle, except use and count calories to remain 50 pounds over weight. Would love to know how you are doing.

Just had my HIDA scan on 11/17/15 and the results stated "possibly up to 7% ER" I'm hoping for the removal of the gallbladder, but unsure of what my doctor will say. Any thoughts? Thanks! Kayln
