Beats starving myself to death. Now I'm healthy and active again (cross my fingers and thanks the Lordr).

Itcan creep back in so I really ensure I avoid "man made food" and eat "Good made foods" only ;)

With enzymes and so on to heal and repair the gut :)

Reglan made me drool and stay awke for 36 hours.  I had my gall bladder out in Feb. and now suffer with severe gas pains. The pains are as horrible as the gall bladder pains were.  Have noticed that G.P.'s and nurses do not know much about gastroparesis ( a paralysed vagus nerve - mine from chemo 13 years ago)...they always ask if I eat a lot of fiber and drink water...and then I explain that the water does not help and the fiber is exactly what I should NOT eat. Good luck to all of us.

I have all of these symptoms described on these threads in this post. I don't know if I have gastroperesis officially because I've only been diagnosed with GERD by a Gastroenterologist whom prescribed me Bentyl(which doesn't work). I was a passenger in a fatal head-on collision in 2006. I broke nearly every rib, and tore the lining in my intestines and had to get emergency laproscopic surgery. I remember feeling my ribs splintered in my body for months. Ever since then, I have developed this weird anxiety/PTST from all the accidents I've been in. Ive rolled in a vehicle in 2001, and in 08 I hit a car making an illegal turn at 45mph. PHOENIX IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE IN!!!! Anyway, since 06 the only for me to get relief in the morning is to make myself burp (and the burps feel trapped) and stick my fingers down my throat to heev or throw up. I've monitored my diet to a T..Cut out all gluten, dairy, eaten vegetables and didn't eat past 6pm. My stomach STILL blows up like a balloon for the first 4 hours of the day. Iv'e also tried all sorts of teas, something called Equalactin,(which helps a little) but I can even vomit the water or tea I drink along with this "blank" air in my stomach. I thought I was just hungry in the AM, but even if I force myself to eat I still have this pain which makes me not have an appetite. I have been taking Seroquel at night on and off since after my major accident to deal with the PTSD, but it's too powerful and makes me weak and dizzy in the morning, (but does subside most of the pain). Psychyatrists have diagnosed me with Depression/Anxiety, and this has affected my life in devastating ways, but I dont know if my body is messed up and affecting my mind or vice versa, all I know is in my case an anti-psychotic does work for the pain and sleep only, but I don't beleive it's the answer to my odorless morning air-bubble that gets trapped in my stomach...I have not taken my Seroquel for a few days and feel fine otherwise and since Iv'e changed my diet, but I'm still sick in the morning Anyone else have a nervous tummy or similar issue only in the morning?

The bloating is build up of gas because your stomach is working very slowly cos of the gp, what will help is ERYTHROCIN yes its an antibiotic but doctors have found that it helps the stomach process the food much faster helping less gas build up I have had this 4 years no and has helped

Hi, I'm new to the site. I too have gastroparesis and GERD. I understand your bloating!! I have the exact same thing. I feel like I am pregnant all the time and it doesn't matter what I eat. some days are worse then others. Yesterday was real bad; my husband was amazed at the size of my stomach. I've had it for years and I know there is no cure for it but I'm already on a low fat, low fiber, low carb, no sugar and no soda's. I'm on yogurt, cottage cheese, pudding, jello; soup, when the bloating gets really bad. I have to lay down and rest. I did go to the ER once because of the breathing. Thought I was having a heart attack. My heart was fine. I also have a hiatal hernia. No fun at all.
Have you gotten any answers? I go see my GI next week.

Sounds like what my Dad had.. pancreatitis. Can be very dangerous and in fact kill you if not under control. If you are out there please have them test your LIPASE as well as check if you are anemic. Hope it is something else and you are feeling better.

I totally can relate. i am sure it is just part of the Gastroparesis, as I deal with this on a daily basis. I am trying to find alternative treatment but not sure if there is anything out there that will really help. #Life with Gastroparesis suxs

Parasites are not know to cause the chronic condition of Gastroparesis. Sometimes a bacterial or viral infection can aggravate it, but it is generally caused by diabetes, Parkinson's Disease, or idiopathic - for no apparent reason the GI tract decides to temporarily go on strike, resulting in severe bloating, cyclic vomiting, and constant acute nausea.

The symptoms you described are symptoms of gas tro paresis. Their are foods to avoid you have it. You are doused to try to stick to a mainly liquid diet: soups, nutritional shakes (glucerna is a great one). My ain't has it and she lines the drink. That or soy milk with sugar free flavoring to save 50%. Basically same thing if you look at ingredients. If you suffer extra fulness, it could be s bezoar (a buildup of unprocessed food) in your stomach. If you continue to suffer, you may wish to consult with your physician to get a stimulant to help produce stomach contracts to help process your food. Lots of tips online for foods to avoid with gastroparesis, suggested diet for those with gastroparesis. Or a nutritionist.

This only happens to me when I have a panic attack or if I am very, very stressed. Your extreme bloating may be a result of stress. I've had this since I was a child and for me, what triggers it is stress + a lack of sleep + a lot of sugar. The thing is, when you are feeling stressed it is nice to have a big piece of cake or a soda, but that is the path to triggering a panic attack or the "panic bloating". My advice is to get a full night's sleep, lay off the sugar and try to eliminate the things that are serious stressors in your life. Also, talk to your dr about medications for panic attacks.

solution: If I have a bloating panic attack, the meditation, Ativan gets rid of the stress, pain and bloating pressure within an hour. I also take 1 alkaseltzer. You have to be careful not to take more than 1 or 2 Ativans a month. If you find yourself needing them more than that then you will need supplemental anxiety medication or you will need to exercise every day (similar results as taking anxiety meds).
