Hi, I have been getting thee buzzing vibrations in my head when I'm laying down, about to sleep, for the last few years. They last for a second or two and are very scary. I decided to research it and came up with a diagnosis of Tinnitus. I think this may be the cause for me. Hope it helps :)

I experienced this head buzz for the first time this morning.  I thought I was going to die.  I had been restless in bed for a couple of hours and was sort of sleeping.  I was laying on my side with my arms sort of crossed with each hand on opposite shoulder when all of a sudden there began a very loud buzzing in my head along with extreme pressure and all at the same time my body from the chest area up to the top of my head felt like it was in seizure.  I just remember thinking that I needed to reach for the phone to call 911.  In reality it probably lasted less than a minute, but it was the scariest thing I've ever experienced in my life.  I am 56 years old and lost my husband last may to a brain aneurysm and heart attack and have a 22 year old but he wasn't at home this weekend.  After it finished I just lay there in bed.  I was afraid to move and then slowly I started checking all my limbs to make sure everything still worked.  So when I decided to see if I could find anything online that was similar I found this blog and after reading some similar experiences I guess I am not alone.  Since my husband has been gone I have been drinking far more than I should.  I vowed this morning after my 4:30 am episode that I will never drink again.  I had gotten up a couple of hours earlier and had popped 3 Advil because I had a headache from too many drinks last night.

I have had the exact same feelings! I have stopped taking my lexapro for about two weeks because it was making me feel to fired. About a week and a half ago I started to get the "star wars" electric feeling. Feels so weird it makes my anxiety worse! I am going to start taking it again to see if the feeling goes away. Then I will know if it is my medication or not.

I was taking Lexapro too!!! I can DEFINITELY tell you that it was stopping the medicine for me. It's been a little over a month since I stopped and the shocks and strange feelings in my brain/head have stopped. I do have the tinnitus and noise still, but I think that's a separate issue. I hope this helps!!! Did it go away when you restarted the Lexapro???

Don't worry! Yes, check it out and all but this has happened to me since I was a teenager. I researched on the Internet and finally found someone that had a solution.

This person mentioned taking Omega 3 Fish Oil. I never had the problem while on the oil.

You can find this pretty much anywhere. However, the best prices and quality vitamins can be found on Vitacost.com.

I was on suboxone for 6 yrs, then I left the US and went to Mexico. When I ran out of subs I didn't know what to do,I couldn't get another script from my Dr. Different story. Anyway while I was in Mexico I soon found out that I could buy Tramidol without a script. And Bcuz of the withdrawals from subs I started using tramidol/altrum, I used 500Mg a day for 2 yrs. When I finally stopped taking the tramidol.I went thru some very, very bad withdrawals. My head was buzzing my ears were ringing, and my body felt like sh*t. And Bcuz I was gone so long my Dr.made me get on the waiting list for subs. But by the time I was able to get any subs,I completely was over the withdraws. But my head was buzzing for a FEW MONTHS! I thought that I had a tumor or something so I went to the ER had an MRI and CAT scan done also a spinal tap, come to find out that I was perfectly fine. It was just the side affects"withdrawals".
Now needless to say i'm coming off subutex. And its all happening over again. I don't know why I do thus to my self. I never took any kind if medication, till I broke my jaw and was given Motrin in liquid form. That's where it all starred, getting pain meds for an injury can turn your life into a living HELL!!

I also have these strange buzz or vibrations when I am right on the threshold of falling asleep, i also have paralisis during the middle of some nights, for about 10-20 seconds. It doesn't happen frequently but I have been having these sensations since I was a teenager (now 23). I have been an opioid addict and am now on Suboxone for 4 years and it has happened more times that usual in the past 2 years.

It is interesting to see that I am not alone and other people have experienced these same sensations.

Wierd,I have been having problems when just about ready to enter REM sleep.

Once ,it was like my head buzzed like a buzzer inside my skull.

and feelings of goosbumps and slight electrical feeling and feelings of like adrenaline or something its kinda hard to describe, will originate from my back on the left and right side of my lower back and spread through out my adominal area unto my chest and then my heart palpitates and I awake with a exhaling breath like uhhhhhhhhh sounding.. its really scary.. sometimes it goes away for like a month or longer then it comes back and lasts for a week or more and only when im laying down and just about to fall asleep.. I have told my doctor and they think im bonkers.. I even got pissed off and went to another hospital and describe it to them and they have done all kinds of tests on my heart, and find nothing amiss. and even wore a 48hr heart monitor but when i had it on,everything stopped lol. and I have had a sleep study to check for sleep apnea.. still waiting for the results on that though. now they want me to do a calcium score..

Im about ready to just give up,make back has alot of lypomas and others that dont feel like lypomas but harder and pain and wierd sensations are comming from them areas and run into my chest... but they wont schedule anything like a mri or anything, doctor even didnt want a x-ray said I dont think you really need an x-ray and be exposed to radiation..lol can you believe it?

But that wierd electrical butterfly sensation moving slowly from my back around into my adominal then chest and my heart being effected, really freaks me out. sometimes it seems like my heart actually stops cause when it does it,my eyes force closed and i let out a uhhhhhh sound like my respitory is stuck on exhaling slowly causing the sound. its crazy.. Im at a loss.
