I have the same issue. Many blood test, ultrasounds, meds & too many other test to count. I was an aerobics instructor in a High School for 15 yrs & had to give it all up. My body could not handle the stress & the extreme fatigue was killing me. Weight gain became a major issue for & still the numbers are rising. I am currently taking Synthroid & am now researching an autoimmune diet. Trying to get relief from my symptoms. Yesterday I started educating myself on what foods I can eat. This journey is going to be a tough one but I have to survive this disease!

Im on Synthroid and 25 mg. I lost at first but then after being on it a year I can't loose anymore and I am 145 I should be 130 Id even settle for 135. My doctor said he is surprised he has not had to up my dosage. Most people are on higher doses. I go back in August will see then. How many milligrams are you on and your doctor should be checking your blood for your levels at your check ups every 6 months to a year.

Believe me I know the feeling, I am doing basically the same thing as you are. 700 calories a day, one calorie more and I gain again. I think we just trained out bodies to want less food, and when we consume more we gain. I guess we can never have fun eating again.

Maybe you have food allergies. I got off wheat, dairy, corn, and grains, and my weight stabilized.

I am in the SAME EXACT situation. I am on 100mcg of generic synthroid. I have gained 20lbs in the past few months and it's really horrible. My numbers are also fine. My bloodwork comes back great, my symptoms and scan of my thyroid say Hashis.
The synthroid helps mostly with my mood but NOT the fatigue, skin issues, weight gain...
I just don't get it at all.

I have suspected I have had thyroid problems for years. I used to weigh 110 lbs. Which is the correct weight for my 5'2" build. I've always had trouble keeping my weight down, but did so, inspite of occasional weight gain of 5-10 pounds in a week. After my 3rd child was born my weight sky rocketed from 132 after delivery to 148 in a matter of a few weeks. In my 40's I gained 12 lbs. In 1week. I just recently gained 17 lbs. In 2 weeks. This has happened even though, as before, I watch what I eat and exercise. I have gluten sensitivity, and tons of other problems, including 2 other autoimmune diseases. I've had doctor's look at me and say I think you have a thyroid prob. And a thyroid nodule. But after the blood work comes back they dismissed all clinical symptoms because my TSH is almost hypothyroid , but still in the normal range. I now weigh 175. In 1999, I told several physicians about the pain in my neck that I had on occasion. They just brushed it off as arthritis, of which I had not been diagnosed, at the time. I now have a thyroid nodule that chokes me and bothers me a lot!

I did a lot of research, and realized I had to be strict with my diet. All I ate was fruit, veggies, and protein, and the weight was slowly going down. I took supplements to nourish my thyroid, and just did not give up. It took me almost 3 years to lose 20 lbs. but now I weigh less than I did in high school.
I think if you bring down your inflammation, and follow Dr. Wentz, that you could help yourself like I did. She is amazing, and I know she can help you. You just have to do exactly what she tells you to do, and do not deviate. No cheating allowed, and you will see, it will work for you too.

Conclusion, it's a struggle, as thyroid meds DO NOT accurately control metabolism. Metabolism is, in a healthy person, an active process. When a healthy person eats, metabolism increases.
However, those with Hashi's have metabolism controlled by a pill. Eating now actively results in an insulin spike, driving down blood sugar and converting food to fat.
The only answer is to very carefully moderate calorie and carb consumption. I do best eating throughout the day, 150 calories at a time. And I avoid all forms of salt. No risk of shortage with today's foods!
I also moderate liquid intake. If, for example, I drink an unsweet iced tea, I simply retain the water. If I drink 3 because I'm really hot and thirsty from working in the yard, I bloat right up and have difficulty breathing. I retain the water for days.
Off to the gym for a good workout!
