I experiance the same feeling, with the urge to cough. It happened tonight and I actually felt like its skipped twice.. It scares me sooo much that my anxiety goes through the roof. I am going on a holter for 72 hours on July fourth. This will be my 3rd time on a machine but usually was only 24 hours. I am hoping that this time they catch it and could at least tell me this is normal.. I have been on ECG's a few times when ending up in the hospital and everything came back fine. It is so fusterating when you don't know what is wrong, or what is causing it.

Hi everyone! Just thought I'd update you all - my version of these symptoms turned out to be an allergy to amaranth (a type of grain). I had started eating it to try and be healthy and all... but screw it I'm back eating wheat! Weird heart feelings all mystriously vanished. Hope this helps some people!

Hello all, I am 60 years old and I started experiencing the same symptoms since a month ago. I can feel the heavy palpitations and missing heart beat (highly irregular). It is mostly accompanied by cough. Difficult to say which causes the other. It lasts for some time and back to normal. It looks as if the heart is trying to slowdown and the cough makes it to run.

Two weeks ago I saw a Cardiologist and went through ECG, ECHO and TMT. His diagonise was that my heart is normal and structurally healthy. He only changed my Medication from one table to another for Hyper tension.

His advice was that it is mostly stress related or Caffine. My coffee consumption is very little and stress is not anything new of specific. He said there may be some unknown causes also.

One thing that strikes me is that I started foregoing my Dinner (except for a glass of milk) a month ago and I wonder whether this could be a possible reason. But I doubt very much.

The worst part is the more you think of it, it seems to happen more. Hence I am trying to keep busy otherwise.

Any feedback is welcome.

I had a car accident 5 months ago that shocked me so much that my chest was hurting for a week. This then disappeared but every time I panic, I start having heart beat skips. A week ago, I went through a difficult situation that left me so shocked to even cry. The following day, I started to have these irregular beats. Today the 7th day, I had them the whole day and especially when I am lying down. I feel like my heart will come out through my mouth and this makes me cough. These heart beats are  scaring me. Is it just the shock or am I developing a serious disease?

I had a very bad car accident in 5 months ago, I got so shocked that my chest was aching for a whole week. This then disappeared after taking inflammation medicine from a hospital. Now, every time I panic, I start having heart beat skips that later disappear. A week ago, I was in a very difficult situation that left me so shocked that I couldn't even cry. The following morning, I started having these irregular beats again. Today, the 7th day since the incident, my heart its having these beats all the time and its scaring me. I feel like my heart is coming out of my mouth and this makes me cough. Is it just the shock or am I developing a serious disease?

I have to add myself to this mysterious illness. My heart feels like it is hollow, a tickle in the chest, dry coughs, and tiredness on and off. Heart paplipations....Does anyone think this could be a parasite problem? Doctors don't usually deal with this, from what I hear, but I am thinking this could be a place to investigate. What do you think?

I am experincing the exact symptoms also. I had these symptoms a couple of years back and they lasted a long time. My doctor sent me for all the test that are done for this, and all of them came out good. He also said it was stress, however, I am not stressed. I avoid caffeine and it doesn't seem to matter. Now the episodes have all returned, however, when I am sleeping I don't seem to have the problem. It is very scarry , and I too, don't want to go to the doctors because of the last time it turned out to be nothing wrong. I feel there has to be something that is causing this to keep returning.

I am up at 11:54 p.m. because I wanted to see what may be causing my similar symptoms. I've always felt my heart jump off and on (had been diagnosed in childhood w/mitrol valve prolapse), but for the past month my heart feels as though it's doing summersaults, and it makes me cough. It tends to only happen when I'm trying to sleep. I am a 57 year old female,  do have a lot of stress, am overweight by 40 lbs, and have extreme insomnia.
