Thank high heavens for this web-site. The person who talked about pernicious anemia hit the bulls-eye dead center. Vitamin B-12 was the answer for me. I took two packets of "Instant Energy B12" (under the brand name "NOW") last night - I slept like a baby and woke up with that pulsing ache in my ear totally gone and my energy level high enough to work out (albeit slowly :-) this morning. What a relief.

That sound in your ear is your blood trying to tell you something - listen to it and give your body the vitamins and minerals it needs to function.

hi - ive had the pulsing sound in my ear for years. I went to see an ENT specialist in Harley Street, London, who refered me to a special maxiofacial dentist/jaw re aligner. he gave me a plastic retainer/gum mould.

It is caused by teeth grinding. There is a small 'valve' next to your jaw bone that lies behind your ear deep inside. It cleans itself but every so often with grinding and jaw alignment issues it cant clean it self. It gets blocked up and the pulsing sound you hear is as a result of that. If you press your finger to below your ear lobe it sometimes stops...thats because it has nothing to do with your arteries as such thats just the sound reverberating. I have it badly now so have started to wear my mouth guard again. hoping it will help again. realignment of neck bones and posture also helps but not as much as the reduction in teeth grindng/jaw clenching. i was very surprised that this could have such an impact.

i hope this helps you.

i HAVE THIS AND i THINK IT IS BECAUSE MY RIGHT CORODED ARTERY IS COMPLETLEY PLUGED AND THE ARTERY IN MY LEFT EAR IS EXPANDING FOR BLOOD TO MY BRAIN.
RIGHT ON THE FORWARD PART OF MY LEFT EAR IS THIS VIEN AND IF i PRESS FORWARD ON THAT VAIN FIRMLEY

MY HEARTBEAT CAN NO LONGER BE HEARD IN MY EAR. iT KEEPS ME AWAKE AT NIGHT SO i PUT A FIRM EAR PLUG IN MY EAR AND PRESS IT IN WAY UP THERE AND I GUESS THE VEIN IS OP THERE ALSO, AND IF I GET IT TIGHT ENOUGH I CAN NO LONGER HEAR MY HEARTBEAT AND I CAN GO TO SLEEP. I TAKE THEM OUT THE NEXT MORNING.
tHIS MAY SOUND FUNNY, BUT IT WORKS, AND IT MAKES MORE SENCE THAN ANY OF THE ABOVE TRIED REMEDIES.

I was glad when I found this forum and I want to thank everyone for sharing their stories.
I had "pulse in ear" for a few months. It went away for a bit but came back. I noticed that it wasn't as bad when I was lighter. As I put on a few pounds it's gotten worse. Also, I typically take a teaspoon of bee pollen every morning (great source of vitamin B is one of the benefits). I was out for about a week and was too lazy to stop by the store to get more. I finally got some yesterday. I go to herbologyst every other week. When I described my problem she suggested Horse Chestnut. I started taking it yesterday (2 capsules in the morning, 2 in the afternoon). So far this morning my head is blissfully quiet! I even tried to trigger the pulsing – bending down, moving my head from side to side... Nope – still good. I felt pressure in my ear in the morning, but it's gotten better as the day went on. So, the three things that worked for me are weight control, bee pollen and horse chestnut (the one I am taking is by Planetary Herbals, Horse Chestnut – Vein Strength). Perhaps this is something you would like to check out for yourself.

I posted the parasite problem. I just want to say the doctors do not usually find the parasites. Google Energy Health and Wellness in Waite Park, Mn. Buy the paracom and parastat. In about a month your problem will be gone. If it starts back up the parasites are getting into your system somehow. Mine were in my well. I was drinking them and taking the meds. Sometimes they have been there for a while and your body can't fight them anylonger. All the symptoms I am reading are what I had.

I have the exact same symptoms. I take no medication and have not been to a Dr for it. Every time I have seen a Dr in past years, for other problems I was dismissed because of lack of Med insurance.
This pulsing sound is so annoying! :-( It is in my right ear.
I thought maybe I should have the back crown checked or have the tooth pulled. Some times dental can be a factor. If that tooth is removed, maybe it will take pressure off the ear drum area.
Be fore this noise started I noticed that I had slight clear liquid coming out of that ear when I lay down at night. That has stopped but now the noise.
Since many of you are not finding a solution for this problem, I will not go to an "Allopathic Dr' for this. I will see a Naturopathic physician.

I had the pulsing and throbbing sound in my right ear and it drove me nuts. It is a bit better, and I just learned that I have an abscess on my right lower molar. It does not hurt, I just had a bit of an ache in my jaw now and then. I learned that I have had infection in that molar and my jaw bone was fighting it. I now feel that this throbbing sound was do to the condition of my entire blood flow in that area and inflammation from this infection. I am now on antibiotics and the throbbing stopped.

Oh yes, I forgot to say this infection was there for 4 years and I did not even know it. My immune system was keeping it back part of the time.

Hmmm...this is very weird I thought I was the only one with this kind of tinnitus it started in 1999 also in my right ear (seems to be in everyone's right ear) I remember I was visiting my sister in GA and began to sneeze violently due to allergies it started soon after that. It is the most annoying sound I had tonsils removed because of it, i've had an MRA and MRI and every Dr. just says theres nothing wrong it's probably tinitus. My husband and brother both heard the loudness of the sound by putting their ear to mine (no dr. i've met would do it they just wanted to use the stethescope) my brothers reaction was, "holy sh*t! No way!! My husband was in disbelief...i'm still searching for a cure, and this website and your comments has brought me a few steps closer.

I use to have the same problem as all of you. I like all of you went to the doctor and nothing worked. So I payed close attentions to when it started and what it was that I was doing different. Believe it or not the reason it was happening to me had everything to do with sitting in a chair leaning forward towards my laptop with my elbows rested on my knees. Because I was leaning forward, it cause me to tilt my head back, for long periods of time. So I tried to see what would happen if I elevated my laptop for awhile and after a couple of days it never happened again. Hopefully this helps someone out there. Although it seems weird it completely fix my fuzzy crackling noise 100%.

Hello
I also had pulsating sound in my left ear for almost a year.
I checked pretty much everything - started with 24-hour blood pressure monitor, then I went to the ear doctor and had my hearing test, then I had cat scan, then I had my vessels behind the ear checked. All tests came back normal.
Meanwhile I had my yearly phisical done and had to do the blood test. The test came back resulting that I have extremely low hemoglobin. Last year it was just low and the doctor did not scare me enough to start take the iron, so I ignored this recomendation. This time, I finally followed the direction and started to take iron. My HG level rose and... I stopped hearing the pulsating sound, which was driving me crazy for almost a year. The ear doctor said (after fact) that yes - low HG can cause it - this was never mentioned before... I am very happy to get rid of this annoyment and hope that maybe my experience can help somebody else.
I wish you all to be well

I have the same symptoms. I hear my heart beat in my ears. I think mine is from Anemia. I have a severe case and am having a transfusion tomorrow. I will let you all know if it takes the beating away! Let's hope it does.

Hey everybody..I have also noticed a pulsating in my left ear for the past month now. Usually the pulsating indicates an oncoming migraine for me. I have had 1-3 migraines every day now! Im absolutely miserable. I've gone to the doctor twice in the past few weeks and they didnt seem to care at all! They jus perscribed imitrex..which i cannot afford! I've been taking excedrin every single day now and I know it cant be good for me. If i turn my head in certain positions sometimes the pulsating and tension in my neck and head will somewhat get better. It's so frustrating to have to deal with! Any suggestions?
