I've just started taking Cilest at the start of this month and im now on my 'pill-free' week and am having my 'withdrawal bleed' which was supposed to be lighter and shorter than my normal period but its not!!!!! my doctor said i should go on the pill for heavy periods with lots of pain but the pill has had no effect on them! if any the bleeding is heavier now and i just have constant bright red bleeding for the last 4 days...its not stopping!! i have to change a sanitary towel regularly..is this normal? why hasnt the pill made my periods lighter and less painful??
I am on my break week and then will be off bcp on Saturday. I take elinest for a homonal imbalance and the week I get my bleed it is heavy for 3-4 days or so then it calms down. If you have been putting packs together (skipping periods because of holiday or something ) It will be heavy. As you have more endrometrial build up to shed. If it continues to bother you, talk to your ob-gyn to see if they will recommend a different type of bc like depovera shot or cezerette. Hope that helps and eases your fears.
