I was recently diagnosed, by my gynocologist , with endometriosis. They did no test and gave me only seasonale and told me to take 600mg of ibuprofen. I was told the seasonale will help slow the growth. The pain is sometimes sharp and almost unbearable. Is it supposed to hurt this bad? I am only 17 and I started my period when I was 11. Is there ANYTHING else that can help the pain? Also, does the birth control help slow the growth? or make it worse?
Birth control helps endo because it thins out the uterine lining and lightens blood flow =) Skipping periods with seasonale usually helps many many women, as does something called a Mirena IUD...
It is an intrauterine device which slows bleeding and lessens period cramps, but recently docs have been prescribing it for endo.
