Is an excised thrombosed hemerrhoid considered surguery? I has one removed in the doctors office three days ago. He told me I'd be fine by Friday. I'm ok, but no way ready to do too much except rest and sitz baths. From what I'm reading I guess mine wasn't as bad-still hurts and still taking meds. Can anyone tell me their experience with thrombosed removal and recovery.
I too have the farmers and can be very fain full. If discomfort gets bad all I can suggestis hermaloids cream that is internal and exturnal. They wi help reduce it and should eventually go away. Also toilet roll with aloe vera. And Sam baths. Benefit me every time.
Sorry that salt bath.
yes you had a hemorrhoidectomy :-D
congrats on your smooth recovery.
external roids are much smaller than internal ones, so these dectomies often tend to be less painful than excising grade 4 internals.
It really hurts with BMs, but trying to stay positive. Dreading the next bm, nothing seems to make it soft. Laid off the pain meds to help soften stool.
Have you tried metamucil and miralax? I'm on day 10, and have had no problems with hard stools. I'm off pain meds now, but I was popping a percocet every 3 hours for the first 5 days. The metamucil really kept me soft. However, it still hurt like there's no tomorrow after each poo for the first week. It still hurts a lot after BM, but it doesn't knock the wind out of me anymore. I really believe having a positive attitude like you do will help to make the recovery process a lot more tolerable.
I have been taking 5 capsules of citrucel and two wafers of some kind of fiber. Three stool softeners a day. I had Three BMs today, all very dense and hard, the last one the best- no blood. I've been eating mostly oatmeal, some prunes, grape nuts, vegetable soup, steamed artichokes, whole wheat toast with peanut butter, water, hot tea, apple juice, sparingly. And that's about it. I'm optistic about this recovery and listening to what the experts are saying helped them. And my new friends on the board may add! Speedy painless recovery wishes to all who may be suffering. My prayers are with you, know that!
Day 5, feel great today! Yesterday morning just Advil, in the afternoon 1 vicodin and Last night -only took one vicodin and advil when I needed it late at night before bed. Took lots of baths. Ready to be done with this although I know I have a more recovery time. I might even venture out today after bath. It's nice to feel like doing something besides laying down.
Great to hear you're doing better! Your diet looks great. Hopefully you (and I) can keep eating healthy even after the recovery period is over.
Hey,
Hope you're still doing well. My recovery is 100 percent and I felt great after two weeks. Now 2 months later I still take the metemucil Everyday and keep up on the fiber. All in all it wasn't as bad as expected! It was well worth the first few days of pain.

Keep up your great efforts! You just have to keep maintaining a healthy high fiber diet, and continue with the treatment to keep up this progress. Since it's been 2 months already, you should have recovered well enough to exercise. Go for some exercise when possible, like a short jog, or even just a long stroll, to circulate the blood flow.
