Symptoms: Hemoturia and pain in testicular area. Background: 35 y.o. male. Train martial arts; took a couple light taps that night, but nothing that really hurt. Urination when I got home was pure blood from beginning to end, but no pain. Blood in part of a second urination. No pain or additional symptoms for 3 days, then after jumping out of the bed of a pickup, I experienced testicular pain. Possibly hyper-extension, or a knocking. That days activity was fairly vigorous, but not strenuous, shovel work patching .5 miles of a hill with hot mix. Walked back up the hill, and have had persistant, though very mild, pain in testicles since then. Also, minor hyper-sensitivity; on the scale that after I get kicked again, that impact seems to directly effect the type and intensity of the pain. Two days after that, I urinated a very small amount of clotted blood again. There has been no blood since, however, the testicular pain continues at a very mild level. The last time I got kicked was 11/3 at about 2:pm, and pain is currently ever present, but not very intense. Hard to gauge because it's on the 'white noise' scale now.

My real concern is that the first occurrence was a constant stream of blood with no pain, and that I have experienced unabated pain for over two weeks now. A physical examination shows minor hypersensitivity of the general area, possibly particularly with regard to the tubes. There does not seem to be any inflammation, and the pain really seems minor (though persistent and intense because of the region).

My hopeful theory is that a minor impact was still sufficient to burst a vein which caused bleeding, which led to an increased sensitivity to injury, and the second occurrence was just part of the patching process. I have taken a course of clindamycin, and no additional bleeding has occurred since that was taken, however, the pain is unabated. I've been trying to relax, but the closest I get to that involves hiking a 1/8 mile pretty steep hill, picking up and tossing down my 10# paraplegic dog (I handle him like a football scooped from the ground; fairly minimal impact to back), loading and hauling a dump run.

I'm not that concerned if it doesn't abate, but I'm wondering at what point I need to really get concerned. Obviously, I need to try to protect the jewels better, at least until I'm not in any pain again. The Drs in my area who have the equipment for a full diagnosis (that I've found) are not available for over 2 months. Are there indications I should be concerned enough to either A) fly off-island, or B) schedule an appointment for 2 months from now? If this is something along the lines of a hurnia, or an impact trauma, how much special treatment do I have to give this injury? I have a full range of motion stretching without resulting in any pain. About 30 minutes after stretching, I do seem to feel a throbbing for a minute or two, which then subsides. Many thanks for your thoughts on this issue!
