Sorry to hear that, I have had them since I was pregnant with my 10 year old. Mine are external and they do not bother me or itch or bleed but they are out there andI would like to get them removed however after reading all the posts on how horrible the recovery is. I am afraid to have it done.

If the hemorrhoids are still first to second degree, and
in some cases third degree, ask the doctor if he can use
ligation (banding), infrared coagulation, electric galvanic
current, radiofrequency ablation, the laser or arterial
ligation.

If they are bigger - third to fourth degree, ask the surgeon
about the harmonic scalpel, Ligasure bipolar diathermy
or the laser. If the surgeon doesn't have these devices,
he will have to use old-fashioned diathermy, which causes
much more pain than the first three devices.

I personally wouldn't advise the new fancied staple,
or PPH method, which has a high rate of recurrence.
