You don't mention how pregnant you are. You said that nothing was seen on the ultrasound, so I am assuming that you are in early pregnancy? It is possible that the dates were calculated wrong, so the HGC levels are lower than expected could explain why nothing was seen on the ultrasound.

Sometimes a very early miscarriage can be reabsorbed by the body, so you don't get the typical miscarriage symptoms. I have included a list of the range of HCG levels during pregnancy, there is quite a range, it is possible that you are only producing low levels but still have a healthy pregnancy. I would demand another blood test to see if the HCG levels are rising or falling

Quote:

* 0-1 week: 0-50 mIU/ml
* 1-2 weeks: 40-300 mIU/ml
* 3-4 weeks: 500-6,000 mIU/ml
* 1-2 months: 5,000-200,000 mIU/ml
* 2-3 months: 10,000-100,000 mIU/ml

It can stay in the system for a couple of weeks, but if you miscarried at 4-5 weeks then I would think that it would be gone sooner than that.
Good luck
