I had a THR on 3-1-2010 and did fine for approx. 2.5 months after initial month. I have a Bio-met Magnum 2A and have developed an acute centralized pain at the replacement joint site. I also found out the Dr. installed a cerclage wire around the upper femur due to a fracture happening. He told me initially it was installed due to weakness of bone site of stem. According to him X-ray's are fine, blood work shows neg. for infections and no deep vein thrombosis. I read where a posted situation on this site s had constant pain stating he a 2000 THR of magnum 2a and wondering what issues have been found to cause this. My Dr. stated You may just have to learn to live with the pain, need help!!
