Hi teri, yes it will. From what I have read, methadone stays in your system for a long time, makingthe withdrawal a long process, (have heard of 50 to 60 days) . The kratom will last about 4 to 6 hours in easing the WD.

It's your time to be strongest for him. I know how he feels,( it really really sucks) I've been just like him. My wornderful wife felt the same as u. She was there every chance she had to confront me. She never pushed me she just tired to encourage me not to give into that voice in my head telling me, just one more. It's not gonna hurt you. I suggests you try your hardest to get him to stay out the bed. If he keeps his mind off of it. I promise you it helps. His body will still hurt but he really should push through it. U get it over the conter at any drug store. He would have to take twice as many mg of it than the mg of the opiate. It takes away the with draws. Good luck to your man!!!!

same here with the tramadol. i got perscrobed for my bursitis n my hip. i didnt no wut would happened if i would miss a day. then it happened cuz the doc gav me my refill a wk late. i felt death everytime i hit the floor wit my feet. its harder to cope when u hav kids. plus my marrige is on the rocks so the more i need to b numb. sad but true. I am surely going to look into this... I have been on pain pills for about 3 years now and will pretty much take anything I can get but mainly oxycontin... I have been trying for the last 2 weeks to tamper off and quit, cause its something that I really want to do... I just feel like I cant function to do anything without pills... I hate being this way and want so bad just to be able to wake up and not need a pill to get going. Thanks for the info...

Just wanted to add something I discovered that might help others:
Several people have mentioned trouble going to the bathroom (crapping). I'm working on getting off 40mg/day of Hydro Codone and have discovered that lactose messes with my bowels something terrible. Severe cramping that doubles me over, gas, and constipation and diarrhea inter mixed.
I'm not normally lactose intolerant and it took a while to figure out what was causing the problem because it's not immediate, but after getting all lactose out of my diet, that issue is gone.
I'm going to look up Kratom as another posted suggested, but I'm also going to try something i have seen help a lot of other issues for people and that is a green drink flush. Baby barley grass is best, wheat grass is OK, and just blending lots of dark leafy greens with juice isn't too bad. I've seen intense regimens of barley grass drinks make a big difference even for people with chronic pain such as lupis. (spelling?) it also flushes your system.
If you're doubting the effectiveness of greens, look up Dr. Gerson or Gerson Therapy. He started treating terminal cancer and tuberculosis patients with a program that included an intense greens and has an amazing success rate for patients other doctors had labeled terminal.
