Hi, folks. I have some changes in my mouth. My friend, who is a medical student, told me that this was mucoceles. I have never heard about this before, so I will need little more info about this. I would like to know how they are treated. Can anyone tell me this? I will appreciate it.

Hello, there. Oral mucoleles are not so dangerous like they sound to be. In most cases they pass spontaneously, so you don’t need to worry. However, there are forms of chronic mucoceles. They need to be removed surgically. Recurrence may occur. In that case adjacent salivary gland is removed as well. There are several removal techniques. They mostly use laser and they are non-invasive. I hope I’ve helped. Bye!
