hi i think i can help because i just resently lost 30 pounds... and i am only 15 from my goal....here are some tips of how i did it.

- eat about 1500-1800 calories a day...i know that will be hard at first but believe me it works
-chew on ice or gum if u get hungry or even just drink water it will fill u up.
-try to walk during the day.... i play basketball so i don't have the problem w/ excercise but try to exercise at least 30 minutes a day...
- start the excercieing off slow and work ur way up.... weight lifting helps a lot! becuase it builds muscle which actually causes u 2 burn more calories when ur not even doing anything.
-most importantly... do not skip meals!!! it slows ur matabalism.
- try eating lots of fruit and vegatables.
-lean meats like turkey and chicken
-oatmeal for breakfast or a whole grain cerial....make sure its not pure sugar!!
-most importantly just think...no white stuff!.. which means no potatos, chips, white bread,...everything should be whole wheat or whole grain.
-don't snack.....if u do make it a light snack like fruit or i like fat free ice cream.
-watch portion sizes!!!!! make sure u measure out everything..
-drink lots of water!! at first u might gain some water weight but believe me u will loss a lot after the first week.
- just so u know the first month is the hardest but after that the pounds just keep coming off.
-be happy w/ only lossing 2 pounds a week.... it will add up 2 a lot over time. it depends on ur body for how much u will loss and how fast.
-don't weigh urself more than once a week...u will drive urself crazy.

most of all good luck...and push through it cuz the end result is worth it!

To all who have a problem =, here are some things i have learned, but it is not all there is to it, I'm afraid.
Losing weight can be very complex as there are so many individual reasons for gaining weight and not beibg able to lose it.
1/ Focus on the subject in a serious manner..in other words keep it in mind so that you don't slip back. If you do slip back, don't think to yourself, "well, I've done it now. so might as well pig out"...Get straight back on to it and the slip will make no visible difference.
2/ Eating large meals, and fewer of them will not help, as the body can only handle a certain amount of food at a time, where digestion and assimilation is concerned.The excess amount that the body cannot handle in each meal will convert to fat in those who easily put on weight.
3/ five or 6 small meals will be used properly by your internal processes, therefore the food will be used, and not stored.
4/ Do you like raw fruit and vegetables? ..This is so important for your health. Not only for nutrition, but also for the health giving enzymes, which are totally important as a life giving factor, and for digestion , and are completely destroyed by cooking..Eat some cooked veg as well, but not cooked fruit.
5/ Nuts, (not peanuts and cashews..these are not nuts, but are legumes, and quite starchy)..nuts are very satisfying and have the right sort of fats and proteins for our bodies..don't over indulge though.
6/ Keep cooked eggs, (these are NOT harmful), cold meats and chicken, (minus the fat) in frig so that there is there is a ready source of non fattening protein foods for those tempting times..(don't pig out on them OK)? Use them wisely..They will satisfy hunger without causing an insulin surge, which will cause even more hunger. (that is another subject in itself, but the insulin surge experienced after eating sugars and starches is the cause of wanting even more of those same foods..in other words one has to eat them to satisfy the insulin surge created by the initial eating of starches and sugars...If you don't start the ball rolling in the first place, you won't get that uncontrollable surge, esp where the sugars are concerned).
7/ Water yes, but don't waterlog yourself, if it starts gurgling up into your throat, then you have drunk too much for your personal needs.(This happened to me and others I know). If you are eating an abundance of foods with a high water content, you will not need as much water..It depends on how heavy you perspire as well. The body tells you when you need fluids too...
8/ Eat proteins several times a day, but keep starch (breads, cereals, rice potatoes etc) down to once or twice a day if you can. If you find you can't, then make each portion in a meal quite small.(Sweet potatoes and pumpkin are fine)
9/ A good balance in a meal is to have raw foods, and a protein, (only one type at a meal), and a small portion of starch. Tha fats usually take care of themselves, as there are fats in many foods. We NEED fats, and if you are not taking the oil fats, you are still getting them in nuts, meat and eggs, and dairy.
10/ If you tolerate Dairy foods, don't forget that they are higher in sugars, and lower in proteins than the other protein foods.
11/ Fruit juice is not so good unless you are only having about 4 to 6 ounces a day..this is concentrated fruits, minus the health giving fibers, and is high in calories. Better to eat the whole fruit by far.

These things I have mentioned may not be good for everyone, it is just some tips I thought I would share.
Take everyone elses advice and get more exercise as well, and make sure you eat plenty of health giving natural foods, and the less processing the better...There is so much more to be said...

Please do NOT take any drugs that are not tested as safe. I would never give my boys drugs for weight loss. As a mom, I will only buy healthy snacks for my kids. No sodas, eat only 2 cookies a day like fig newtons, eat rasins or fruit instead. You could make smoothies (bananna, ice, low sugar choc syrup and fruit with yogurt-yummy). Eat many times a day with the correct foods. It is when we starve ourselves that we gain weight. The body will store all you eat as fat when it thinks you are going to starve for some time. Educate youself on the human metabolism. This is our fuel burning (fat burning) furnace. Have your mom buy the book that helped Oprah Winfrey, the trainer named Green is very smart and can help you. BUT the one thing you can do today and every day is walk the dog or roller skate or bicycle at least 30 minutes every single day, and you will loose the weight very fast. Have your mom come along in the evenings. Go on long walks in the mall without stopping too much to shop. You could have a race from one end of the mall to the next, power walking, and then stop and rest and have a good laugh when done. Then shop. My 6'4" 300 lb step son started playing basketball and quit eating Chef Boy Ardee and lost 100 lbs. You can do it Girl!

u think ur fat? i am 5'8 and i am 162 around there i go up and down im not fat i guess but i have a lot of muscle i play softball and basjketball and volleyball and tennis but my body is so used to doing those things that i dont get a lot of results from sports so i have to do others excercises plus being on travel teams for those sports and it sucks bc i dont have a,lot of time on my hands bc i have to juggle school and three sports at one time but i found that is instead of chocolate i should eat fruit or a small salad i hope this helps you and if ur not in sports and u r sitting at home er something go outside i found that when i am bored i eat alot and it is mostly junk food so good lick wish me luck too!!!

hi I'm 19 lbs. and 5'5". my mom told me that sometimes the best way to lose weight is to eat six meals a day but don't eat more food. just split it up. if a eat a ton in one sitting there is less chance of you burning it off. i do this and I'm skinny, so it may or may not work.

i think you should reduce your eating conciderablly...just eat one bowl of healthy cereal and probably two slices of bread...that's what i do...try and avoid sugary things...that helps Alot....Avoid sodas..coz they really add on empty calories..And avoid junk..just stick to a three course normal healthy meal.

Drink lots of water.And Inspire your boy firend to do so too...it'll be good for both of you...and basically walk alot..

Do all this and just see in 6 months...it'll be a new you ! ;-)
