hi ive been taking birth control for about 4 months and anitbiotics for over a year (for acne) i have recently stopped taking the antibiotics and im wondering how long i should wait before having unprotected sex
Normally, you should think about talking to your doctor about that one. But, I can offer some friendly advise. In Sept I went and had my wisdom teeth taken out. The lady at the counter told me that it would make my birth control inactive. You will probably be safe once you start a new fresh pack. That's what they told me at least.

It's actually wrong that birth control is inactive while you take antibiotics. The truth is that it makes the pills LESS effective, not completely worthless. After you're on antibiotics, you need to use protection for at least 7 days post-antibiotics.
