unfortuneatly, teenage girls are pretty shallow, and if you don't try to lose weight it could hinder your entire adolescent experience..Losing weight isn't the only thing that will make girls like you though, if you have high self confidence and a positive attitude, people will take more notice of you.  If you did lose weight, it would definitely boost your self confidence and attitude.  Losing weight isn't going to be easy, but it is possible and you will be super glad that you did.  You will have to change your eating habits & become more active for it to happen.  You should start looking at the nutritional value of everything you eat.  It lists calories, fats, carbs, sugars based on serving size.  For example, a bag of chips may say Serving size 11 chips, servings per bag 6 and then list the calories and so on.  That means you should only eat 11 chips.  If it is something like mayonnaise it may say the serving size is 2 tbsp, then you should measure it out and only eat that much.  You should eat things that are low in calories & fat, but also carbs and sugars.  You shouldn't drink soft drinks, except maybe once a week to treat yourself for doing a good job staying on your diet.  Soft drinks are full of sugars and calories.  And since you want to lose weight, you have to cut back on the amount of calories you eat.  When you do this, you may feel hungry sometimes and you aren't going to want to waste your calories on a drink when it could be food.  Avoid eating white bread, white pasta, white rice-if possible eat wheat or whole grain. You can eat six small meals a day, as long as they aren't high calorie or don't put you over your calorie goal.  I would think because of your age, you shouldn't eat less than 1800 calories a day.  But as you diet, the less calories you eat, the more weight you will lose.  Just do not drop below 1200 calories a day. Your body will think its starving and begin to store fat only making you heavier.  Keep in mind that some foods, you can eat alot of because they don't take away from your calorie limit--bellpepper, carrots, cucumber, broccoli, most raw vegatables.  Fruits are good to but dont eat lots of them all the time because they are very high in sugar.  You can even have snacks, just be sure that you stick to your calories and dont go over your limit.  Keep a daily chart of what you eat and your calories. Google my fitness pal. It is a great place to help you keep a log of your calories.  You can look up meal planners too that will show you samples of what kind of meals you could have for your allowed calorie amount.  One very very important part of losing weight is drinking WATER! you have to drink it in order for your metabolism to work to help you lose weight.  You should drink 10 glasses a day. a glass is 8 ounces. so 80 ounces of water a day.  If you don't like plain water, try buying flavored carbonated water, or get the crystal light flavor packs that you can pour into bottles of water.  It is a good idea to take a daily multivitamin while you try to lose weight.  If you can get a weight scale also. Pick a day of the week to weigh yourself.  Weigh yourself once a week first thing in the morning after you use the bathroom.  Keep up with your weight so you will know how much you lose a week.  It is safe to lose 2 lbs a week, but lots of people who are heavier lose more a week when they first start dieting and exercise.  Don't get discouraged if you don't lose 2 a week every week.  It took a long time to gain weight so it takes a while to lose it too.  For the exercise part, you should do some sort of exercise for at least 30 mins a day for 3 days a week.  The longer you do it, the more you can increase your time, but don't workout every day. Your body needs time to rest so if you do exercise more than 3 days a week just don't go over 5.  Now, your 30 mins can be a number of things, but it has to be something you can do pretty steadily, without stopping.  Examples of things it could be: walking, swimming, riding a bike, skateboarding if you use both legs to push by taking turns, jogging, running, push ups, crunches, jumping jacks or if you have any exercise equipment like an elliptical machine, thats great too.  You can mix it up any way you like.  Exercising will also help you drink your daily water requirement.  Look online for other ways to eat healthy or for fun exercises you can do.  Before you start make a goal, a weight that you would like be and don't ever quit trying until you make it.  I hope I've helped, best of luck to you!!!
