Well I scalded my hand pretty badly. Got blisters but they've gone down now. My skin is still dark brown and shrivelled up(the top, not the palm). I'm wondering what I can do to make it heal better. I've been applying the dyfazine cream the doctor gave me and applying this vitamin E liquid but it doesnt seem to be helping

I did take it to the doctor. It's been nearly a week now and my hand just looks like an old person's hand which is what's freaking me out. The doctor's advice was just wait for it to heal :/

Several years ago my  little brother scaled his forehead (an entire layer was missing, yuck) attempting to "help" my mother take her coffee out of the microwave.  The doctor prescribed him Silvadene and his 2nd degree burn was cleared up in about a week. After that everyone who had a burn or scratch in our family used it until the entire tube was gone.  We reordered some off of the internet.

I'd advise you tell your doctor that what he prescribed isn't working and ask him for something else alternatively you could just order some Silvadene off of the internet.

Best of luck!

demondor,

It depends upon the severity of the burn how long it can take to heal. 2-3 weeks or so to heal is common for a fairly deep second degree burn.
