I would like to improve my riding skills. I want to be a better and faster rider. I understand that I have to train harder and/or longer. It is just that I do not know how hard and how long I have to train in order to get some improvement. What is the training intensity that will enable me to become faster?

There are few things to consider. First is that there is no progress unless you push harder than before. Second, the harder you push the longer the rest has to be. If you push hard but do not allow yourself enough time to rest and recuperate you will not get very far. Therefore, you have to be able to make each workout top the previous one at least by 1-2 %. If you are unable to do that, it means that you haven’t recovered sufficiently from your previous workout. In such case, you will give yourself more time off. Once you are recovered, you will be able to work harder than previous time.
