Hello everyone,
First of all I am new to this forum and need some help. I live in North GA in a town called Dahlonega. I am in the army stationed and here. I was stationed in Alaska for 3 yrs. and did not "really" have to run. Now I am here and the unit I am with REALY pushes running. I am expected to run 5 miles with in 40 minutes. I know that does not seem that fast or that far for most of you but I weight 215lbs. I started out weighing 160lbs. but I started working out well the rest is history. The terrain here in VERY hilly and that is where we have to run. I want to improve my run time as fast as possible. Is there anyone here that could help me with this?

What kind of times/how far are you running now?
Well have not been keeping times. I did a run the other day with the company and the ran 5 miles right at 40 min. I came about 10 min behind them.
How did you feel after the run? at what point did you drop from formation?

It will take some time to build your endurance......You might want to try this, in your runs run a mile and walk a minute. This will help save your legs for longer distances. What is your average pace right now?
To be honest I don't know. I think it is some where between a sloth and a turtle. Realy I don't know around 10 min. maybe.
