I'm 47 & have been addicted to opiates since I was 16, had 350mg IV methadone habit at one point have tapered down over the course of 5 years, dropping 25mgs a month ish, until dropping 25mgs was too much, then did 5mg drops until I reached a 5mg dose which I stayed on for roughly a year. Then looked into Subutex & was ready to switch, had to stop taking the physeptone & withdraw, I was told by the doctor the longer that I went without anything the better the Subutex would work when I started taking it. 2 days in still hadn't taken the Subutex, my withdrawal symptoms were not as bad as I imagined so I perservered without taking any opiates, I'm now on day 15. Things that I found helpful though was a small amount of nitrous oxide to get to sleep, it's only short acting so you may have to get up 3 or 4 times a night, do not binge on it, 2 or 3 balloons each time you have to get up. I only had to do this from day 3 to day 8, haven't had any since day 8. Some good hash helped me too & also a tiny bit of valium, but obviously beware of valiums more addictive nature that heroin, but then so it seems Subutex can be too. Music, sex, food (if you're able to eat) As my addiction history had been so long I was expecting far worse withdrawals than I have experienced but do not expect all my symptoms to disappear within a month, I'm just taking it one day at a time. PS I could not have done this on my own, friends, family, loved ones as long as they know where you're at can help.

Seriously try to find cannidiols. Cannibis oil was the only way I slowly weaned my husband off hydrocodone and fentanyl patches, heavy drug. I gave him 1/8 gram the first week, daily, then upped it to 2/8 the next week and then so on. He was pretty well out of it for a few weeks but it kept him from realizing I was cutting down the dose each week, slowly is important. Within a few months, I had him off the hydrocodone and then started on the morphine patch, which took a few more months. He is no longer having any pain, as those drugs cause phantom pain as well. He still takes the oil as he has cancer, which is why we started it...but I was told it would help get him off the other stuff. Good luck. It will help you sleep, no pain, and get through the withdrawals...as long as you have someone to take care of you. You will be pretty sleepy for a few weeks.
