I can 100% say that baclofen works wonders as well. I was addicted to Oxys and dope for 10 years. After multiple attempts with suboxone or other partial opiate agonists I've finally kicked it for real and have been clean for 6 months. In my opinion the only way to do it is to taper off fast and just deal with withdrawals, and seek therapy or treatment to really address the problem.

Anyway, baclofen and clonidine got me through these withdrawals- I didn't expect them to do much but it really just wasn't so bad. get through it and then get on a solid recovery program to stay clean once the physical dependency is broken.

I was on 4 10mg methadone a day. I took a half less every 2 weeks. I'm now done .As I was prescribed these for a,back injury being a mover. I felt crappy for about a week, then it got worse. I should've cut them into 1/4s. The worst thing was skin crawls & sleeplisness. Even with prescribed valium I could only sleep 2 1/2 hrs a night. I started feeling so yucky. that my niece gave 3 325 hydrocodone. It was just too hard to function. I break them into 1/4's as they call these rescue meds. I didn't realize how strong the methadone were! But they help me sleep a bit more that way I'm not irritated & skin crawly all day. These should help make my last few days a bit more comfortable. I'll never take pain killer for a long amount of time again. I specifically requested methadone because it gave no euphoria & were cheaper than other opiates. Sucks that withdrawals are a side effect!

I really enjoyed what you wrote. I feel we most likely have a similar story. It really does suck and having chronic pain. We were just set up by being fortunate enough to possess the hideous Addiction Gene. It will get better

I see how old threads are...did anyone stay clean? Mine was always recreational until May 2016. I had injury and they masked that PAIN well as underlying issue. Loved the codeine...not side effects after extended use but ankle, knee, legs, head all took backseat so life could resume. 40+ hours work, OCD for home/life fed until my brain just said no more. Denied that kept on with hydro or tram whatever legally prescibed ( wouldn't take time for docs after 2015 bc it messed with ocd flow unless HAD TO ). Brain even with codeine shut body down 5 days ago. Seizures/migraine/beginning neuropathy detected and testing set up.missed 2 days work, have long wknd and migraine fading but sleeping, thirsty, seizure last night and messy bowels. Brain not doing crazy search for codeine but I've cold turkey before ( failed) and wondering when my life/energy comes back. Have anti seizure, muscles relaxers, klo opin, xanax so no scary anxiety I had prior but sick of being in bed hovered over. Does life " before" ever come back? Calves are big problem

Where can you buy the rescue remedy? I can stand the sweats and the diarrhea you can take over the counter for that. It's the restless legs feeling and it is in my arms also. Are there any remedy for that?

I don't know why you guys are making this so difficult. I have withdrawn cold turkey many times and gotten through it. Until I found what actually works!! Ok....get 4 or t suboxone, 5 or 6 xanex, 3or 4 of any type of muscle relaxer and some good pot and cigarettes. Take the first muscle relaxer at about 5 to 6 hours after your last dose of opiates. Then 12 hours after last dose take a suboxone. Then after the sub resolves take a half or full Xanax bar and smoke some bud and a cigarette. I swear to God you will feel fine. Perfect! Repeat this process for 3 to 4 days. Then stop all the xanex and subs, keep smoking bud if ya want. But bam! Done with withdraws and off the sh*t! Congrats!!

I am on morphine and have the same problem. I have been told it is the meds. I didn't have a problem when I was taking quick acting. The long acting is when they came on
