I should be drinking almost 100 ounces and I can barely drink 50 a day.

Try to drink water one hour before and after each meal. Reason? If we drink during the meal, we will dilute the digestive juices in our stomach. This will force the stomach to produce more acids to digest our food. We have to remember that undigested food causes all sorts of problems such as acid reflux or allergies.
If you need to, just drink very little water during the meals or a few sips at most.
Just last one tip, eat high water content fruits too in the morning with an empty stomach. You will benefit from it.

I attended a lecture where the exercise physiologist was going off on water intake and made the comment that we are dummer than dogs if we don't get the recommended level. After the lecture I commented that humans don't get to mark every bush they pass and public piddling is unacceptable. Remember that all these recommendations are based on normative data. Everyone is unique and may not need to "recommended" level.

I have gotten better lately, but no where near what it should be. Yesterday I had 36 oz and 32 oz of sugar free lemonade.
