Hi Jyudy,

Mixing alcohol and diabetes is not very good thing. However they say the whisky can be consumed because it doesn’t contain any carbohydrates.

The main reason why is not smart to drink a lot of alcoholic beverages is because they tend to make you hungry. And when you are hungry and you eat food, it will mess with your blood sugar and your diet. Also sever drinking will make your mind moody and you will lose control over the amount of alcohol and the amount of food that you eat.

So my advice for your husband is that he can have a glass or two from time to time, but he has to be careful not to drink too much.
