Try looking into ovarian cysts. You will need a pelvic ultrasound when you are in pain.

I have been dealing with bleeding from the rectal area as well as my vagina when having a bowel movement. As I went in for my partial hysterectomy 4 weeks ago the doctor found that I had extreme endometriosis. Once he burned it off of my rectal area I haven't noticed anything else.

I had an abdominal hysterectomy with removal of both ovaries and tubes. Initially, I had no bowel problems - in fact, quite improved over before. Fast forward almost 3 years and then the problems started (now 5 years out). Constipation is now the norm. Learned that having a hysterectomy was essentially like having pelvic floor remodeling. The bowel now sinks into the space formerly occupied by the uterus. For me, I am dependent on probiotics and Magnesium Sulfate (400 mg) daily and lots of walking or exercise!! Yes it does make a difference. The magnesium acts as a bowel relaxant. I do wonder if I have developed adhesions that have yet to cause additional trouble or will as the years pass. Between a C/Section and abdominal hysterectomy, I am certainly a prime candidate for adhesions!
Anyway, its just good to know that there is a physical reason for why this happens and something that should be shared with anyone who has had or about to have a hysterectomy. I was fortunate to have preservation of the cervix (no cuff for me!) which is probably the only reason I haven't had my bladder prolapse - yet at least.

I have had the same symptoms except the bleeding. My bowel seems to be restricted and pain to my left lower side. Especially when I am doing repetitive bending over. Any idea what it can be?

I work in surgery and speak with drs all the time of this. First of all, that dr is dumb. As you age the more pain you can handle

I never had digestive issues until I had a full hysterectomy due to ovarian cancer. I could not eat solid foods and a few years later I developed a 5cm tumor in the sigmoid colon. I started doing enemas and colinics and that really helped. Hysterectomies should not be taken lightly, they bring a lot of uncomfortable symptoms and can cause serious problems.

Hi i had a hysterectomy 6 years ago, iv suffered from hard stools before for a long time, and after. Whats worse is compacting of stools and struggling to pass stools that are often bloody.
I would like to share the cause with you as this may be why some of you describe a sharp bend.
I had a very large fiboid the size of a babys head, and im 5 foot size 8 person it had been growing over years that was at the back of my womb pushing on bowel causing a u bend
When i couldnt pass stools i had to have hysterectomy, this let bowel drop into space where womb was caused twist, this caused pain was hospitalised. Had to take meds to blast bowel out straighter, like drain blockers lol

It’s only been 1wk and a 2 days since my partial hysterectomy. I’m like wow I thought I was alone feeling so much pain I can feel air pockets in my intestines trying to poop I literally have to pull myself up and holding on to the tub and sink so the pain can lessen but oh my god the yells you hear you think some Is killing me. Reading all these posts scare the hell out of me knowing that this will never go away. I sit here and tell myself the previous pains I had I would rather have then this.

I have a total abdominal hysterectomy with BL Salpingectomy in 2017 as I had a 20 X20 X20cm 2kg fibroid in my uterus. However after about 6 months ago, I sometimes really in pain whenever I want to poo even just fart. Sometimes, I just feel the pain is unbearable. Few weeks ago, I had an USG and they found I have a 35X30X20mm lesion on L adnexal area. loop of bowel vs post-op seroma. End of this month I will have a CT scan. I do not know what all this means but it seems I am not alone here.

I have read each and every one of these posts. There should be something that can be done about this. The same thing has happened to me also. Everyone that has posted on this page need to form a support group or something. The doctor’s are aware that we are going though this problem. They just don’t really have an answer for us. They should be made accountable for this. They give us no knowledge that this will happen to us after a hysterectomy. We write our problems here, but no one answers. But we all are still suffering. Let’s try to help each other to try to get though this. This is crazy. Help
