I am 35, am hypothyroid due to Hashimoto's disease and have developed inflammatory arthritis in the last year. I have had non- stop heavy periods for years and am finally going for a hysterectomy that I have been putting off for the past 5. Weight loss is nearly impossible and I'm terrified that the surgery will cause me to gain more. I'm 5'4" and over the last few years, have gone from 120 lbs. to 155. This is despite diet and exercise!! Everything I've read so far has me terrified that my decision will make matters worse. Anyone in a similar situation? My surgery is scheduled for July 8th and I'd feel better if I knew what to expect. Thanks!
