Im 13 almost 14, and i have the same problem. i feels like theres a pebble behind them and it just started a couple of weeks ago. the slightly hurt when you touch them, but not too bad. i am just now noticing swelling. i have masterbated a bit but quit. i never rubbed m nipples much or anything. i sleep on my side and my belly so i thought it could be from that. i have a girlfriend and dont want to be seen with freak nipples or anything so someone please help, i want to fix it before it gets real bad. %-)

Hi all. I am 22. I am guessing this thread has pretty much died down as I see no posts in months? Has anyone come up with a solution to this problem? When I was about 11 I used to poke around with my nipples (playing around as a kid) and one night they both got swollen because of this. My doctor at the time told my mom it was all part of going through pubrity. Yet here I am at 22 and am sure I have been thorugh pubrity already and still have the same problem with my swollen niplles. Sometimes (like most have said) if it is cold in the room or something they go back to normal size. My problem is beach season is coming up and it has been years since I have taken off my shirt at the beach or in public because I am embarrased on how I look. My current health insurance will not cover any surgery proceedure and I have little money as I pay bills/ rent/ and college tuition. Has anyone come up with a non surgery way to fix this? My current doctor says there is nothing wrong or that I should not worry but it has been like this for years since I was a teen. I do work out at the gym for at least an hour 5 times a week to lose weight and try to maintain it healthy but I doubt this could be the problem.
Any ideas? I am so embarrassed and even feel embarrassed as I write this post. Any help would be appreciated.

Im also 14 and iv'e had the lump under my nipple since i was 13 and i went to the doctor and they said it was a stage of puberty..and they said it would go away in about 6 months. and its been a damn year. but the reason i think it is happening is because of masturbation..because i did it..alot! lmao but lay off of it for a while and see what happens thats what im trying to do. and i notice that it goes down slightly ..

Ugh seems like evryone has some sort of the same f*****g problem! Im 16 and i noticed a small bump appeard right above my left nipple at first it started hurting wen i touched it, all this information has been useful i think my problems differnt though i ocasianally grow rly think nipple hair and i find it very emberassing so i pluck them out and about two weeks ago i had plucked one out and the very next day the lump on my nipple appeared idk if its brlecause of tht but thts wut im thinking and about masturbation i doubt thts it because i hardly do it, i dnt know if telling my parents or something but i just want this to go away alrdy

I'm 19, I had nipple stones when I was first going through puberty which were painful bumps underneath the nipples that also made them appear swollen. After the nipple stones went away, I continued consistent masturbation and the puffiness never went away. They are slightly enlarged mammary tissue probably due to slightly higher estrogen levels in your body. If I took a week and a half to two weeks without masturbating, the swelling goes down. From my research and experience this is what I've concluded (I am no doctor so don't site me or anything): When you masturbate, your testosterone levels actually increase. In order for your body to maintain homeostasis, it produces more estrogen to continue a healthy balance of testosterone and estrogen. This slightly increased level of estrogen may enlarge your mammary tissue, giving a man swollen, albeit painless, nipples. Nothing to worry too much about, but if you're really self-consious about it, try going a week or two without masturbation and see if the swelling goes down.
Note: to all those who have painful bumps under their nipples (and are ages 10-16), don't worry. The pain goes away relatively soon. Just protect your nipples to avoid pain. It's nothing to be worried about.

I had this problem. Just the right nipple. Doc told me for years that it was just a normal growing up kinda thing. It never went away, or switched to the other side like he suggested. After 5 or so years I got the opinion of another Doc. She recommended that I get it removed. I did. It sucked. Woke up wrapped up so tightly it hurt. I was hooked up to a drainage tube that led to a gross blood filled container. Was stuck like this for 3 days or so til I was finally unwrapped and got to see my new nipple. It was not done all that well. They sliced half way around my nipple on the bottom half leaving a scar of course. My nipple will forever have less feeling. I don't like it to be touched to this day. This is a good 13 years after surgery. My nipple that was operated on is also forever lower than the other. I don't know how they managed that. Would I do the same thing again? Yep. I'm a pretty hairy dude now, so that helps hide things. I have gone through a few stages where I shaved my chest and such, and the only person that stares at it is me. No one ever knows until I tell them. I tell a lot of people. It is nothing to be embarrassed about.
