:'( i was just recently told that i have erythema nodosum amd i am 3 1/2 mths pregnant. my legs are extreamly sore and i find it painful to walk seeing there are lumps on my ankles. i have never had this before and the doctor said it was from being pregnant. but as i read from site to site it kinda scares me because it says that it could cancerous. well my mom just pasted away from cancer 4 mths ago is there anything i should be worried about ? my doc did blood tests and said that if they dont go away he is going to put me on steroids should i be taking steriods if im pregnant ?

I have had EN since I was 14 and first went on birth control pills. Mine is triggered by excess hormones in my body. Typically I avoid getting lumps by staying off hormonal birth control methods and have found NSAIDs to be helpful.
However, now that I'm pregnant I'm having "breakout" after breakout of lumps, mostly small, but consistent-just as one lump starts to disapear another forms. I'm sure I'll be like this until I deliver.
You should see a Dr for thier advice, they may send you to a Dermatologist but in my experience there isn't much they'll do for you other than manage the pain/discomfort. I have found through trial and error that limiting my sodium intake and eating foods like canteloupe and lots of water (foods that are good to solve water retention) help a great deal in the time the lumps are visible as well as the swelling of my calves and ankles.
