I have read many of your replies. Furthermore, I have been to the doctor (ultra-sound, rectal exams, colonoscopy, endoscopy) and many dollars later, achieved absolutely nothing. Just curious, do any of you feel that there is something in your life that you need to dispose of? You know this in your heart, soul and every fiber of your being but you are afraid of getting rid of it? I am not referring to anything within the physical body but more accurately within your life. Perhaps you need to end a relationship with someone? Dispose of something. I am curious because our physical bodies manifest our dis/ease.

Hi don't know if your still suffering but if so I also am suffering from aweful rectal pressure, Mine started 12 mths ago when I had prolapse surgery after complaining of feeling lumpy when sitting but since then it hasn't gone away only worsened and I've had a colonoscopy resulting in further bowel surgery to remove excess muscle inside the rectum from the previous prolapse surgery, resulting in a rectocele! I've had a Medtronic neurostimulator inserted 6 weeks ago and at first it seemed to help my pain but the last few days I'm back to square one with intense rectal pain even adjusting the stimulator hasn't had any effect. It's relief to know I'm not alone even though I wouldn't wish this on anyone! I'm 63 and a female.

I have had rectal pressure for two years now accompanied with tailbone ain't and punundal pain so it's related to the pelvic floor. I've had nerve blocks and radio frequency blocks in s1, s5, ganglion Impar and punundal nerve. I finally found a pelvic floor therapist but have to wait for the appt. I'm obviously not as mobile as you all seem to be. When I sit for any period of time or walk the pain is severe. The only relief is lying on my side. I've gone to several dr's. Had colonoscopy, a he prior removed, constipation from opioids addressed and under control, Pap smear and sonogram, MRI , pain mgt, Accupuncture . It just seems not to end. I try to accept the pain but when it becomes so severe it's kind of hard to forget about. Hoping this therapist can help me. I've had it for two years and can't take it much longer. Good luck to everyone. It's strange that out of all the people that replied no one has a diagnoses. I'm diagnosed with nerve entrapment and pelvic floor dysfunction.

MALE 32 no prior GI issues

jan 2016- massive bacterial infection in throat that lasted 1.5 month

feb 12 2016- prolapsed something (unknown) following a very very thick/smelly stool

Started feeling a constant pressure in upper rectum

March 15 2016 Colonoscopy- removed 4 polyps all non cancer

upper rectal fullness/irritation gets worse by the day

April 3 2016- defography--shows no intasuaseption or anything major

Stool goes from solid-sticky-watery-solid in that rotation.
sharp stabbing pains in lower abdomen and hips when passing stool
no blood
regular stool movements

Feels like the irritation/fullness is about 4-5in inside rectum aligned with tail bone

July 20 2016- scelrotherapy for internal hemorrhoids----no help

after being sent away by 2 colorectal surgeons, went in to see gastroenterologist,
thinks its a constipation issue.......I don't, I pass stool every day with no issue

upper rectal fullness is getting worse by the day!!!!

What could it possibly be??? it started abruptly, no previous symptoms! its running/ruining my life!

How is it possible in this day and age that colorectal surgeons and urologists and gastrointestinal doctors have no idea what this can be!!!

Sounds like IBS. My doctor said it could be stuck stool that has not come out. He said to use a baby syringe with warm water in rectum.

I've had these problems ever since my hyst n 2001 have had severe vaginal pain all kind of pain in all areas of pelvic floor. Been to every specialist x2 (my story is way too long to go into)but did have an enterocele and it was repaired 2007 but continued to have pain although the feeling of a baseball in my vagina was gone, so at that time the pressure improved. In the last couple of yrs been having similar symptoms with rectal pressure, nausea, rectal/anal pain and general misery. It has taken over my life!! I know all about diet (eat healthy)fiber blaa blaa. This a mechanical problem, something is not right with the alignment of all this and it all started with the hyst and subsequent exploratory surgeries. I have had a kink in colon in the past and was told that I have a very long colon. This condition gets worse if I have diarrhea (sp?)or constipation. I have severe pressure and pain, and it also causes severe fatigue, feel like doing nothing. I believe that it is rectal descent and rectocele. The doctors act like all this stuff is some deep dark secret. It is amazing how the docs know so little in their own specialty. Over the yrs with this pelvic floor problem (summed up as pelvic floor disfunction) Nobody (except the people with this problem) could possible understand this misery, and very difficult to tell people what in the h--- is wrong with you. Diet, fiber, water, time or God is not going to fix this problem, although each of these things can help to some degree. I've been through all of them. Researching and finding the right doctor might be the only answer. I don't know if I can live out the rest of my life like this. I had resolved that I would not have another surgery, but this is intolerable at this progressed point. Good luck to all of you!!

Experienced this kind of pressure that developed into pressure and pain. After seeing far too many docs and enduring WAY too many "digital exams", it turned out that I had anal fistulas that were swelling in response to a misplaced immune response. I have dealt with this since my early 20's and have had multiple small procedures to drain the fistulas as well as a horrific surgery called a fistulotomy. I finally found a doctor who treated me with antibiotics on a daily basis to reduce the immuno-response that was the root of all the swelling and pressure and that helped a TON. Might be something to discuss with your docs to see if it might be a similar issue. Full Disclosure: I have been on opiate medicines since my early teens which contribute to intestinal distresses of all kinds. Also just for infos sake, I would usually have blood in my stool before the swelling would start due to tearing that allowed a fistula to form. Fistulas are more common in regularly constipated individuals
