Okae um I'm only 16 - I only get my period every 4 months or 5 , and only have it for 2-3 days which I like but my mom said she doesn't think I can have kids. I've had my period since around my 14th birthday so shouldn't it be regulated?

im 19 and for the past couple of years my period has been very irregular. im not sexually active so no worries there, but i keep freaking out that something must be wrong and i told my doctor this and the dates of my periods and he ran some tests on me and everything is normal. ever since that, my period had been 3 months apart for a year now except for a random time i had my period and then had it again the next month.

I am 20 years old and I have highly irregular periods. I am 5'7" and 135 pounds, very healthy eater and exercise at least 4 days a week. I got my first period at age 14. I suspect it came later because I was a competitive swimmer between ages 9-14 so the high exercise levels delayed it from occurring sooner. After the first period, it would only occur every 2-3 months, and usually pretty heavy. I swam my first two years of high school and ran cross country for 3 years. My periods continued at the 2-3 month rate -about a Max of 3-4 periods a year. I was also sexually active my last 2 years of high school (protected). I went on birth control my senior year and my periods became more regular at once month. Occasionally it would skip when coupled with stress and exercise. In college, even while on birth control my periods became less frequent again. I was not healthy my freshman year. Currently I have been off birth control for 3 months and still have not had my period since early January. I suspect it just has to do with the endorphins your body is giving off and how much energy you are expending each day. I do have worries about fertility though because I had a great aunt who could not get pregnant because of a condition with her uterus. I hope this post makes someone feel a little better. The more information about a situation is likely to leave you with less questions.

I also had similar problem , but i got pregnant within 2 months after marriage and have a healthy son. After delivery I din't have periods for 1 year, then again it started and comes between 2 to 3 months with heavy flow. After 3 years we started trying for a 2nd child, but no positive result for past 2 years... so its all about luck I think and ofcourse, consult a doctor after trying to conceive for 6 months... Best of luck

Oh these frustrating abnormalities! I have a very irregular period also. The longest I've gone without my period is about 7 months, but when I get it It's heavy and prolonged. I've been on my period for a month and a half now. Thankfully I don't experience cramping, but it's still quite frustrating having it this long. I feel weak when on it and it seriously sucks because I'm a fairly active person and I have things to do I can't slow down because of Mother Nature's "gift". I've been recommended birth control pills, but I chose to pass. I've seen the commercials about the dangers. Besides the pill is there anything anyone does to control it naturally? (tea, other remedies?)

I am 27 and I have mine every 3 months and when it comes it last little over a month. My doctor said I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) and I worrie about this myself. I just got married and we both want children. I am over weight and PCOS causes it. You should look into it with your doctor because there is ways to help. For me I was told to loose weight and try birth control to regulate me to help with conceiving. Good luck!

I'm 24 and my period have been irregular since day one. I once went a yr without it. I also thought I wouldn't be able to get pregnant. Me and my husband tried for a yr. Few yrs later I didn't know I was pregnant and miscarried. Now I scared to even try again. My doctor said it was normal to not have a period every month but I still do my own research
