If you really want to know if you have an STD you need to go get a blood test. This is the only sure way to make sure you don't have an STD. I would go ASAP because STD's are very dangerous and if not diagnosed soon they can fester and turn into more illnesses. Go to your doctor or if you don't want your parents to know talk to someone at Planned Parenthood. I hope you are ok and best of luck. By the way make sure you don't have sex before you go to check for STDs because you can give it to someone! Even oral sex can transmit an STD!

Depending on the STD you'd probably notice a discharge or have an "itchy" feeling in your urethra. Some though, you may not know you have so you'd need to be tested.
Some STD's, HIV for example, can take months to test positive. In this case we test at 3 months after exposure and again at 6 months. Normally, if you test negative at 3 months you'd be negative at 6 months.
If you test early, you'd have a "false negative."
It never hurts to get tested. You know you'll be healthy and you will not infect your partner.
