So I was jacking off like I usually do and I use the edging technique where you get to the point of an orgasm then stop, hold, and then continue once the urge has passed. The only thing is that sometimes I hold, have a complete orgasm, yet do not ejaculate at all. Honestly it's rather annoying since it wasn't as good as completely letting go when I was ready. I've looked quite a bit for an answer to this but have not seen anything addressing this. It's as if I have ejaculated yet in reality I did not at all. I'm just worried this will come up when I'm with a woman and I'm also curious to whether this is unhealthy. Help anyone?
This is normal. And it means you are doing it right. It's a mini, or dry orgasm, and is stage one of having male multiple orgasms.
You should notice after this that you remain hard, but not fully aroused, and that it takes a minute or two to become fully aroused again. (Whereas had you had the full normal ejaculating orgasm it might take 10-30 minutes, or more.)
You can repeat this process as often as your will power and patience allow. It is good for building stamina. The end orgasm, if you allow the natural timings of arousal to work, rather than just forcing yourself to orgasm, will be much improved.
With each successive dry orgasm, the sensation is stronger, and the orgasm lasts longer. I've read about one guy that tried taking this to extreme, apparently did it about six times, and ended up having a sort of permanent dry orgasm, his penis kept spasming and he had the good feelings, and it just kept going, until he squeezed his Keegel muscles and produced the full ejaculation, some time later.
(Good luck with that. I've never had the will power to do it more than three times.)

Age is pretty important in these questions...how old are you?

It is physically possible for males to have an orgasm without ejaculating. Let me know how old you are and I will see if I can provide a little more specific information for you.

Taz, it's not physically impossible to have an orgasm without ejaculating (as I indicated above. Must register, one day.)
I've done this many times. You edge, close as possible without "going over", and wait a few seconds, and the result - when the timing is right - is a dry orgasm. The refractory period following this is very much reduced. I did it three times, with a refractory period of about a minute between each. The third dry orgasm went on a long time, maybe 20 spasms. I'm not special; it definitely can be done with practice.
Try it.
Regarding it happening with a woman, in my experience that's when it's best. The lady certainly feels it, and appreciates it. And you're ready to carry on, straight away. The "main event", when it subsequently occurs, is in no way attenuated by a dry orgasm prior.
I agree regarding the age issue.
