i am on the birth control method ortho evra and i have been on that for maybe a year now and i was diagnosed with herpes and i also take a medication called acyclovir for the herpes. It seems as though later on when im about to have my period every month my symptoms for herpes start to act up, so i take double my dosage of acyclovir(my doctor said it was ok) and the more medication i take i produce white lumpy discharge(that has no odor). It lines the inside of my vaginal walls. i was wondering if the abnormal discharge is from my birth control? herpes? or even my medication? i need to find out so i can help the situation. does anyone else have this problem?
I had the same problem. I was told that the discharge came from herpes.

On another note, I was on Ortho Evra for 3 years (2003-2006)and have had genital herpes since 1994. A year and a half ago I started getting blood clots in my right leg, right lung, pelvic area, and left leg. These clots were all at different times. I am sharing my story with you because I now have lupus. NO other family members, on either side of my family have or had lupus. Some had never heard of the word. My doctor told me that estrogen and any virus (herpes for me) plays a great deal in getting lupus. I'm only 32 and have a life of hell to face with these lupus symptoms. Take good care of yourself and make sure to go to the doctor on a regular basis.

Herpes here too and I had a very similar discharge. I actually get an increase in herpes like symptoms right around my period too but I haven't had a second outbreak. I'm not on suppressive therapy right now. I would say what the other person said and just keep track of what is going on and don't be afraid to talk to your doctor.
