Hi everyone, so relieved to find that I'm not the only one going through the same problem. I thought I was going insane 'til I found this forum!

I too am suffering from recurring abscesses. Last year I got an abscess on the side of my nose near my eye and was hospitalised and had it asperated. Results came back as a normal staph infection but NOT MRSA. Was sent home with antibiotics and advised to come off my progesterone only pill. Followed their advice then a few months ago I had another one, this time on my chin. It is still there now and I have had steroid injections injected into and around the area which has worked slightly but not much. I have been walking around with a large plaster on my face for the past 3months because the doctors dont know what to do with it. It was the size of a pingpong ball (no exageration) and is now half the size. I now also have another one above my eye underneath my eyebrow causing my entire eye to swell so much that it has now closed. I also keep getting another abscess in my groin which seems to come up and disapear every few months causing me alot of pain and discomfort. I look and feel so disgusting :( i am having to wait 4wks until my appointment to see a dermatologist to HOPEFULLY get something done!

The abscesses are making me have a high temp, racing pulse and extreme fatigue. I feel v.frustrated and upset. I am not getting payed sick pay from work as I cannot go to work either and fear I may lose my job for having such a lengthy period of time off work!

If anyone finds out any more do post on here!

Jenna.

The only thing that hurries my abscesses along is a referral to my dermatologist who injects the surrounding area and the abscess with a cortisonic steroid injection. Within a week it goes down about half the size but thats it.. in my case because my abscess are so big this isn't the best solution but my derm doesnt want to open it up because it will scar my face :(

Garlic has helped a lot of people with MRSA and it seems to work to some extent on other boils as well. On page 6 I linked to several research journals regarding the efficacy of garlic and other "foods" against various bacteria. Don't forget Hippocrates famous quote about food!

i have tried a remedy that seams to work. when i feel a boil coming on, i take some alcohol prep pads and put it on the boil that seems to be coming. i cover it with some gauze and tape. i change it every twelve hours. within two to three days the boil is gone. hopefully this remedy will help some of you guys out. it seems like the alcohol breaks down and kills the bacteria inside the boil. again i hope this helps some of you out.

I get these sometimes too, the first time about 4-5 years ago, I thought they were spider bites and went the emergency room, the doctor took one look (and no tests or anything) and said it was a stapf infection, gave me a script to anti-biotics and then they sent me huge bills to disinfect the place. From the size of that bill they must have hired and army of janitors to clean the whole hostipial.

Anyway.. I took the anti-biotics for two weeks and they were not getting any better, so I started taking high dosages of vitamin C (like 4000-5000mg) and they cleared right up in a couple days. And the vitamin C thing has worked when I got them again, for me it makes them clear up in a couple days and usally not even burst.

I've been taking 1500-2000 vitiman C every day, I havn't had one in several years. Ive got a new one now, first time in quite a while. I havn't been eating or sleeping well, and had a bit of a cold a couple days before I got it, and got a little off schedual with the vitamin C.

I suppose that doctor back then may have been right about the Staph infection, but I am not at all convinced about that.

i get for 9 months now tiny bumps they pop and have a little tiny hard ball (seed) started on my upper arm, now have tons on my feet, legs elbows covered 10 on my face, arms and upper chest they scab up and i have been on antibiotic a dozen of times, went to dermotologist said it was from the sun . really now , first year i didnt it in the sun or go in the pool, primary doctor had no idea went to the walk in cause i had bronchitis and she swabbed a few and had them cultured and said i has staff infection. primary doctor says they ended up open soars and that is where the staff came in, using mupirocin 2% supposed to have antibiotic it in all it does is soften the scabs as does showering and they fall off and scab up again i am at this point disgusted and feeling disgusting went from 2012 spring tank tops, to cap sleeves, short sleeves, 3/4 sleeves now long sleeves HELP i googled tiny bumps with hard ball and they called it a seed and it was only to the neck area why and what are these things what can i do to get rid of them also primary doctor had me tested for diabetics

The repetitive recurrence of abscesses is due to bad diet coupled with a weakened immune system. If you are into mainstream medicine then go with ichthammol ointment, works in a matter of days and if you get more just beat them to the punch. If you are into holistic healthcare use oreganol™ directly on the source and cover with comfrey leaf... change twice daily

I had the same problem, went to different doctors and they couldnt find anything wrong...until my uncle told me it was because of a weak immune system and to eat a lot of garlic.. I did it and all the symptoms went away in a couple of days...I still eat garlic once a month or when I feel the symptoms coming back ... Just try eating garlic, it worked for me!

I have the same problem! This last time i decided to look into herbal remedies instead of going to the e.r. and im glad i did. I purchased oregano oil, tea tree oil, tumeric( from the cooking isle) and oreganoll p73 capsules. I was becoming very ill for the last three months, and always a week before my period; so i assumed i needed to change my birth control. Who wants to be sick for two weeks every month? When i started getting two abses on my face i had a horrible feeling something was really wrong this time. So after doing my research on hearbal remedies i bathed in the tumeric. To my suprise my whole body was filled with the infection, it was taking over my body. After a couple baths in the tumeric i had abses pop up on my back, at least 5 or 6, as well as my neck, my upper thigh, and other places including my scalp. I began taking the oreganoll capsules, applying the tea tree oil, placing bandages with ointment and tumeric on my spots and drinking a diluted mix of the oil of oregano. To my suprise it worked, very well!!! Not only did it get rid of my MRSA their are many benifits from taking oregano oil, oh i also took grape seed capsules, for anyone who has problems with vericos vains this is very helpful.

Hi thank you so so so much for the vitamin C tip. This time, the boil went away before it even got to burst! I still took the whole doctor prescription with antibiotics, pills to prevent swelling and pills to prevent itching like i did the previous time which still let the boil harden and burst in pain after almost 3 weeks and left me horrible scars. But i believe its the vit C that really helped. The bloody thing gone in one week, no bursting means no scar YEAHHHH. Still on pills to make sure the bacterias killed and gone completely. Cant take too much Vit C in a short period of time tho. I did try but failed to find out if it was good that it didnt burst. Somehow i have the idea of if the dead bacterias, white blood cells...etc...dont get out they'll come back to life one day hee hee Anyway thank you again from saving me from pain and scars. Tran from Vietnam

Hi Megan! I am new on here. Your chronic abscesses, well, check into hidradenitis suppurativa. There are support forums for it. I am almost 56 and have suffered this horrid condition since my mid 20's! I know that things such as diabetes/smoking/obesity can aggravate the condition. I am in a stage where i do not heal from the abscesses. They call that Hurleys stage. My opinion is them giving you amoxacillan for all those abscesses is WRONG MED! There are bacteria that are gram positive/gram negative and also anearobes-areaobes. anearobes are NASTY, they thrive in non oxygen areas such as deep tissue. Areaobes thrive on oxygen. My opinion and experience is that if a doctor would TAKE the time to do an anearobic culture then maybe something would get discovered. Anearobic cultures are tricky in that the pus needs to be needle aspirated so it wont be exposed to oxygen, once it hits the air, they die! Also, the lab doing the culture has to be notified that they will be doing an anearobic culture so they can set it up under proper conditions in the lab! As far as areaobes, they can just swab the pus send to lab. I would DEMAND such cultures! Hope that helps! Take care
