Wow. Your story sounds exactly like mine. And I mean EXACTLY! I, too, was terrified to go to the clinic. I pictured it being this awful and scary place. But boy was I wrong! I was relieved when I saw that pretty much all the clients there on MMT were "normal" people just like me. My only regret is that I didn't swallow my pride sooner. But it's all good now and I'm doing GREAT! I'm happy to see another pro-methadone person. I personally believe that methadone gets a bad wrap because there are SOME out there who abuse methadone treatment and because of these select few, everyone on methadone is viewed as being junkies and believe we are only trading one addiction for another. But that's simply not true. Anyhoo, glad you're doing well and keep up the good work! :)

Methadone had a life line so do not take no pain pills for one you are not going to be sick for 2 days and the second thing is you will mess up your sobriety and it's not worth it. Why go to a methadone clinic if you are still going to use?

thanks tracy18 only 12 more hrs to go exactly missed two days of work cant visit my mom not even wanting to go downstairs and face everyone for missing weekend dosing..thnx reading your message gave me strength this is one of the hardest things fighting for my life when i'm still learning and trying to care but I have to I just found out im pregnant so I have to think of someone else for once instead of me. been through too much hell to ever go back so I will grin my teeth some more and get cozy with my labtop. open to any suggestions

Just goes to show you, in this life you can't be a little b***h all the time, when someone screws you over, it's time to man up, and take revenge. That doc deserved a good jaw to the sidewalk if you know what I mean, then it's on to his kids and wife. They just really need a talk though

I've split my dose into two days before without any ill effect. Be aware, that's not to say it will go the same for you, as everyone's body responds slightly differently. Don't EXPECT to be sick, though. You'll think yourself right into imaginary withdrawl.

Yes!!!!!!!.... I'm on 160mgs of methadone and I missed yesterday, I'm going to the clinic in 30 minutes. And I'm so sick I can barely steady my hand to type this message. Even a low dose will kick your legs just say butt!!... If you have been on the methadone for a long time!. I was on 180mgs for 12 years!!!.... And dropped down 20 mgs over a 6 month period. The longer the harder!.. Liquid handcuffs!... If you're on methadone you know what that means..

No matter how careful we are there will always be that one day we miss a dose. That one day our hands slip on the faucet and the medicine goes down the sink. The one day we get sick and vomit immediately after dosing. That one day you straight up drop your open take home bottle on the floor. I get it. I'm going back to school and recently came back from a short trip to see my family in Arkansas. I was so frazzled and exhausted from the Greyhound trip that the day before my first day of school I overflowed my take home bottle in the sink and all of my medicine poured out into the sink. The most I got was maybe ten ml of diluted pink water. I chugged about 8 oz of grapefruit juice but it was only enough to get me through until midnight. I have about 6 or 7 hours to go until I can go dose tomorrow which is my usual pick up date. I really don't know what the hell I'm supposed to do but wait. They say that the half life of methadone stays in ur system for two days, but when you've been on opioids for years then it's a different story. Just because something stays in your body doesn't mean the withdrawal process doesn't begin. I'm so anxious and sick and uncomfortable right now, but at least it's not full blown withdrawals.

I have only been on methadone about 6 months I have missed 3 times (today I missed) right now it's 5 PM and I'm just beginning to even notice that I'm feeling any worse than normal II think it's mostly mind over matter if you miss once ... Because I have been uncomfortable but not sick
