I missed my dose of Methadone, will I get sick before tomor

Your story really confused me. I live in Kentucky in Louisville and the clinic I go to is one of the strictest clinics around here. However I get to decide if I feel like I need to go up and my counselor will put the order in and the Doctor either okays it or denied it. I've never been denied. However you can not go past 100mgs without doing a peak and through. How much did you increase your dose? I ask because you will eventually get use to that dose ( probably within 2 weeks) and need to adjust again and this will go on until you can't increase anymore. I know methadone is a very strong opiate however, when you are an ex-addict your body gets use to the dose and it does very little of anything for your pain. People who take it for pain usually get it from their pcp and take one 10mg tablet every 4-6 hours for pain. We take our whole dose at once to prevent withdrawal. Your dose peaks within the first 4 hours then levels out so if you are in pain and you take your dose at say 6am by 3 or 4 it's not helping with your pain anymore. My dose never helps with my back pain ever. You may need the hydrocodone for break through pain. Methadone is 100 times stronger than hydro or Oxycodone so the amount you would need would be astronomical. I'm not sure what to tell you to do but your clinic Doctor sounds like an as****e.

I am on 80mg of oral methadone. I took my last dose on Sunday evening at 6pm. I don't get more until Wednesday morning at 7. I'll tell you this. The only withdrawal effect I get is occasional hot/cold sweats. Tiny bit of chills and low energy. I'm also going to say extremely mild stomach cramping and sore knees. Other than that no other symptoms. I can eat fine during Monday and Tuesday. By Tuesday night don't get me wrong I'm itching for my dose but I know it's less than 12 hours away. I've been on the MMT for 1 year. That's how my body deals without methadone for like 2 and a half days. It isn't that bad at all. Just for your info. Some people are different. But that's how my body takes it. I must have built up a lot of methadone in my body for those 2 days it holds me over with very minor withdrawal symptoms. As I wrote that I got a hot flash and a bit of sweats lol. I'll be fixed up tomorrow morning at 7am and it's 11pm right now.

I agree but if I am on 61 and I have booze and benzos. Maybe some good good but I need to know if I'm going to be sick today

Look, when I read your post, I just read nothing but excuses. The bottles clearly say what day the dose should be taken, and in all honesty, it is typical addict behavior to take more of the methadone than was prescribed to you. Unfortunately, you did not follow the rules. Before you increased the dose, you should have talked to the doctor. You are on way too much Prozac. My husband, who had terminal cancer, was 220 pounds, only took 30 mg. of Prozac a day. Your symptoms sound like you're slowly becoming toxic from such a high dose. You need to get a second opinion on the Prozac dose, as soon as possible. As for the clinic, you are lucky they are still keeping you as a patient. I wouldn't rock the boat anymore, I would follow the rules because they will discharge you if you don't. A patient that increases their dose on their own without approval is too high of a liability. I missed my dose today and have not used in 8yrs.. And tomorrow, I can be dosed. Been, on it for 10yrs! I am just having a couple of drinks. Hope I feel OK, by doing this..

Ime in the UK and today I've had no dose so went online to see what people experience when missing a days meds ! Good to read ur story sory to here about your dad hope all is OK now ? Hope also you can work towards being drug free ( prescription or otherwise ) life is tough and complex when we have to rely on meds from traveling out of town to holidays it will always cause us problems until we ourselves say enough is enough it's time to reduce and become independent ! All the very best for all our futures !

I miss my dose today,I'm on 60mg will I get sick.

Can anyone answer my question pleace.
I take methadone almost 2 years and my daily dossage is less than 1 ml(20-30 drops), Is it better to take my regular dossage of methadone or to stop? because i get get sick with Streptococcus pyogenes and staphylococcus aureus bacterias, so my question is-if i stop taking the methadone right now do i risk of harming my health and immuno system with stoping or its better to continue until i get cured from the bacterias and than stop using the methadone. Once you have been on methadone for a while it doesn’t last in your body for 2 days - opiet is a drug that the body needs more n more each time you take it or it doesn’t work as pain meds so if you have been on it awhile and reducing your dose you feel sick or on the edge of sick every morning no matter what so missing a dose will put you into withdrawals

Yes this is normal. I have mild withdrawals every time I wake up. I feel absolutely bloody awful until I take my methadone which then takes an hour to kick in. Thwn I can get washed etc and get on with mg day. Some people tale half dose am and half dose pm. Never tried this. But I might do next weekend and see if it helps the morning withdrawals.

I have been methadone for over three years my dose is 30 mg, I missed todays dose, I don't feel great nbut I surely don't feel bad, id feel bad if I had street drugs in my pocket tho itching for a good reason to take them. Don't take it! ive through what your going through quite a few times. oxycontins suck ass anyway, by this time they wont even do anything for you mostlikely and even it did it would be short lived and you will feel worse physicaly and metaly tomorrow stray strong an flush that worthless pill!

Just realized im a day late lol. I was looking on here to ask a question myself about missing a dose cuz I fell asllep early and woke up and Im wide awake now but pain pills, f**k that stuff that what got me on methadone many years ago and me being inpapatient and wanting to get off sooner than later was a big mistake, I was a pill head and quit methadone was on 190 and came down 10 every other day, ifelt great allthe way until I was off, mycouncler pleaded with me to stay on longer but mydumbass ass said look I cant even get my penis hard in years now, my girl left me and another day on this shitt and ill kill myself! well she took that seriously and when I came crawling back 5 days later she wouldn't take me back because what I said and INEVER was so separate to feel better so desparate I drove straight to Camden and shot herion for the first time. After years and incarcerations just over not paying simple tickets for getting caught out in the city I finaly got back on, I was at 90 for the almost 3 years and I very slowly by listening to the doctors who I didn't trust before got myself down to 15mg and I felt better than ever! not to mention my sex life came back with a vengeance I have a daughter now lol. I recently went back up to 30 because ive been suddenly in a lot of pain due to finding out I have some super rare condition testiciluiar microthisiasis or something like that, I got even pronounce but it makes my back and balls hurt so bad sometime I cant barely work but I push through it. I just want to hope sharing my stupid story the very short version nwill help someone make abetter decision than me. drugs are bad ok lol put your big boy pants on suck it up you will be ok I promise, trying to take street drugs or buying xtra methadone on the street will only mess your dose up your on now and you will feel lousy for a week until your body evens back out stay strong and if you did allrrady eat the stupid pain pills don't beat yourselfup cuz that's just another way you will find a new reason to do something wrong again. good luck buddy stay strong if not for you try for the people around you ps everything I write I say cuz im preaching to myself also! Will my doctor replace my spilled methadone dose? I spilled my dose, believe it or not into the dish water in the sink! Does anyone know if it is possible for a replacement dose?
