I would really like to get my body into shape because i have a big event coming up around March of 2013. Unfortunately i dont have the time to go out to the gym or out for runs. Is there any simple work outs i can do daily that wont take too much time?

You'll just have to work on your diet more. How much time do you have to exercise?

You could try doing some stretching, push ups and sit ups. Jumping jacks, little exercises like that can add up
