I was on Yaz and have been switched to Sprintec through my physician because of Breakthrough bleeding. I did want a period this month due to a upcoming vacation. So, I skipped the "fake" pills and I have been spotting for over a week now. I feel like I have my "real" period. If I knew this was going to happen I wouldn't have skipped the "fake" pills. Will the spotting ever end? Did I mess things up?
It was probably just too soon after starting the new pill to try to skip a period. Your body isn't used to the new one perhaps.
The first time a woman attempts to 'skip a period' will usually not work, and you may bleed or spot well into your next period.
This is considered normal, so pretty much you would just need to weather it out.
Some doctors recommend going ahead and having a period, you would stop taking the pills, and restart a new pack.
By doing this, you would be 'bleeding out' the spotting cycle and it would hopefully end.
