Hi,
I've been drinking heavily for a few years. I've decided to quit drinking during the week, however each time I do, I have bad vivid dreams, causing me to wake up a few times each night. I'm not sure what's causing them ( it could be stress which was previously numbed by the alcohol ? ) I'd appreciate feedback. Thanks !

In order for any such big withdrawal like the one from alcohol definitely is, to at least have a chance of success you will need someone beside you through the first, toughest days. You may even need medical attention, because the strength of alcohol withdrawal symptoms depends on how much have you been drinking before. Vivid dreams and nightmares, besides tremor, headache and irresistible urge to have a drink are regular symptoms. You really should see a doctor or some kind of professional who will help you to go through these tough times.
