Hello, there has been Something that has been on my mind for years about my lymphnodes. I am a 26 year old male & when I was about 11 or 12 I discovered at least 10 lymphnodes in my neck including under the jaw were very firm but not quite not rock hard, moveable but attached to the underlying tissue, some small and some larger, maybe the biggest one is a few centimeters. Over the past 15 years they have not grew any bigger. I felt in great health. No night sweats, fatigue or itching like signs of cancer. I guess I never told a doctor because I am afraid of them sometimes (sounds silly :P) and they never caused discomfort or pain but I wonder could they just be shotty nodes from getting sick sometime as a kid and they just stayed harder and slightly bigger? or maybe there is a deposit build up of sorts in them? thank you or any insight! :)

I think shotty lymph nodes are pea sized, round and hard like a lead pellet. Since you've had these for 15 years I'm sure its nothing to worry about if you have not experienced any other symptoms.

If you play around with them a lot they will get bigger.

I have a few on both sides of my collarbones and 1 on my jaw and behind both my ears. Some are soft and some are rock hard but are about 5mm in size, so they may be shotty nodes. The softer ones are 1cm or less. Some of the other Ive had for years like the ones behind my ears.

I haven't been to get them checked out but I will be because Ive been worrying about them for the last month now.
